Yakamoz S-245 is the newest thriller series to make its way to Netflix, as we get to see a Turkish series that is quite promising in terms of its overall premise where the characters need to avoid the sunlight due to its fatal effects. However, we have seen a similar premise in a Belgian series called Into the Night. So, in that regard, do you need to watch Into the Night Before watching Yakamoz S-245?

There is no need to watch Into the Night before Yakamoz S-245 because they have distinct stories. While they may be connected to one another, both Yakamoz S-245 and Into the Night follow different characters that are also in the middle of the same catastrophe that is plaguing the planet.

Yes, there are connections between Into the Night and Yakamoz S-245, but such connections aren’t important in understanding the stories of each of these shows. That said, you can watch them independent of one another, but it still is better to watch both of these shows. Now, let’s look at what we know about the connections between Into the Night and Yakamoz S-245.

How Are Into The Night And Yakamoz S-245 Connected?

One of the newest post-apocalyptic shows that you can watch on Netflix today is Yakamoz S-245, which talks about a doomsday event that’s caused by the sun. Essentially, the premise of the show talks about how the sun’s rays have become too harsh that they could kill anyone who gets exposed to it. And for those who have been following post-apocalyptic shows, this premise sounds very familiar.

Into the Night premiered in 2020 and already has two seasons on Netflix. The premise follows the story of an airplane that was hijacked by an Italian NATO soldier and forces it to take off early so that they could escape sunlight, which has become too harsh to the point that it could kill people. As such, the plane travels from one city to another and only flies at night so that the passengers can remain safe from the deadly effects of the sun.

In that regard, both Into the Night and Yakamoz S-245 have the same premise. The characters in Yakamoz S-245 escape the sunlight by staying submerged underwater in the titular submarine during the day. On the other hand, the characters of Into the Night find shelter in different places during the day and only fly at night. So, how are Into the Night and Yakamoz S-245 connected to one another?

Those who saw the end of Into the Night season 2 would understand that a mysterious submarine called the Yakamoz S-245 appeared in the Doomsday Vault in Norway. One of the people in this submarine, Arman Kaya (the star of Yakamoz S-245), ran into the seed vault to find the characters of Into the Night in the middle of a conflict as Ayaz was about to shoot Markus. In his anger, however, Ayaz pulled the trigger on Arman as the final episode of Into the Night season 2 ended without revealing who Arman was. That is where Yakamoz S-245 comes into the picture.

Yakamoz S-245 starts off by introducing Arman to the audience during a time when the sun wasn’t out there, killing everyone. However, during the course of the first episode, the series began exploring the events that are happening concurrently with Into the Night as Arman and his ex-lover, Defne, found out about the catastrophe that the sun had caused. And while they were out on a mission in the sea, they were rescued by the crew of the Yakamoz S-245 as the story of the series commenced.

In that regard, Yakamoz S-245 allows us to see the events that happened to the crew of the Yakamoz submarine prior to the events that happened during Into the Night season 2. We can even say that the events of Yakamoz S-245 happen at the same time as the events of season 1 of Into the Night but have different stories that are yet to converge with one another. The convergence point of the two shows is the ending of season 2 of Into the Night, as the characters of both Yakamoz S-245 and Into the Night aim to get to the Doomsday Vault in Norway to get their hands on the seeds there.

However, there are more connections between Yakamoz S-245 and Into the Night. During the latter portion of Yakamoz, Arman confronted commander Umult of the submarine as the star of the show revealed to the crazed commander that he knows about the missiles that he launched from the submarine’s torpedo tubes.

Meanwhile, in the first episode of Into the Night season 2, it was revealed that an unknown missile had destroyed the Bulgarian airport, and another missile did the same to the Russian planes that were close to the Russian bunker. This is where it becomes interesting because it could be possible that it was Umut who was responsible for destroying the airport and the planes because he didn’t want anyone else to get to the Doomsday Vault in Norway.

Umut made it clear in Yakamoz S-245 that his top priority was to keep everyone on board his submarine safe, and he might have been led to take the most extreme measures by firing off the missiles that destroyed the airport and the planes so that no one else could beat them to the seeds stored in the Norwegian vault. After all, they were running out of food, and the only way for them to replenish their food supply was to use the seeds in the vault to grow food.

In that regard, it is more than likely that the events during Yakamoz S-245 affected the events of Into the Night without the characters fully understanding that their actions have affected the stories of the characters in the other series. That is where the connection between the two shows can be found, but such a connection is loose at best.
