Marvel has kept Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom shrouded in secrecy for much of the ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ campaign. Even after the first trailer arrived, fans still struggled to get a clear look at the villain’s costume. That’s why every new Doctor Doom figure reveal has become a major event for collectors and MCU fans alike.

The toy floodgates first opened during San Diego Comic-Con. The day after Marvel Studios’ presentation, the embargo on ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ merchandise was lifted, and Hot Toys marked the moment by unveiling its sixth-scale Doctor Doom and Doom’s Throne.

Now, a new set of images is giving fans another chance to admire the craftsmanship. MCU Film News shared a fresh look at the Doctor Doom figure on October 2, showing the villain cloaked in a dark green hood, his metallic mask glinting under eerie green light.

The photos appear to showcase Hot Toys’ sixth-scale figure, posed against a glowing green stained-glass backdrop with the ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ logo at the base. In one shot, Doom extends a gloved hand toward the camera, while a close-up highlights the weathered texture of his iconic mask and hood.

Fans were quick to react, with one replying that Doom looks absolutely menacing. The figure is packed with features. It includes a body with 30 points of articulation and a newly tailored armored suit, according to Gizmodo. Its masked head comes with separated rolling eyeballs, allowing collectors to adjust Doom’s intimidating gaze.

The magical touches stand out, too. Doom comes with interchangeable hands, including a translucent green pair with black krackle mystic power effects. Sideshow also highlights his green, bendable wire-embedded cloak and highly detailed armored suit.

Collectors can also complete the scene with Doom’s Throne, a sixth-scale accessory that recreates the throne’s architectural design as seen in the film. It features gold rune details and a stunning green stained-glass backdrop.

There are multiple versions to choose from. An Ultimate Version shows Doom posed atop a light-up diorama base shaped like a Sentinel’s hand, while an Early Access Version was also offered. Hot Toys has even revealed a second figure, called Victor Von Doom, limited to 3,000 pieces worldwide and showcasing the villain’s second mask.

These collectibles don’t come cheap. One retailer lists the standard figure at $359.99, while the throne accessory carries an MSRP of $199.99. Doctor Doom headlines a much larger lineup. Hot Toys’ first wave of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ figures also includes Magneto, Cyclops, and Gambit, with Beast and Professor Xavier on the way, along with a Sentinel.

Other brands are joining in as well. Hasbro is launching a Marvel Legends collection for the film, and S.H.Figuarts has confirmed figures of Doctor Doom, Thor, and Captain America. All of this merchandise is building anticipation for the film’s December 18 release. With Downey Jr.

returning to the MCU in a brand-new role, Doom’s look has become one of the most closely watched elements of the movie. If these figures are any indication, Marvel’s next big villain is going to be a visual showstopper.
