Doctor Doom Takes Over Dave & Buster’s With a 3-Month Marvel Transformation for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’
Marvel’s promotional push for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ has spread well beyond movie theaters, and Dave & Buster’s is the latest brand to fully commit. With the film scheduled for release in the United States on December 18 as part of Phase Six of the MCU, companies have been lining up to put their own spin on Doctor Doom’s arrival.
The marketing blitz has already reached fast food and coffee counters. Dunkin’ rolled out Doomsday drinks, doughnuts, and collectibles on November 4, along with a new ad starring Channing Tatum as Gambit, while Jack in the Box is offering a Doomsday dipping box and KFC is launching a Doctor Doom menu.
Dave & Buster’s, however, went a step further than a themed menu. The arcade and restaurant chain is temporarily changing its name to Doom & Buster’s as part of a nationwide takeover celebrating the film’s release. The rebrand hands the company’s name over to Doctor Doom for 77 days.
The company is leaning all the way into the bit. “When one of the biggest movies of the year is coming, you don’t put up a poster,” Chief Marketing Officer Jeremy Tucker said in the official announcement. “We gave Doom our name.”
The rollout has already started. The promotion begins rolling out this week before the full takeover launches on November 16, and it will run through January 31, 2027, giving fans a chance to experience the themed attractions before and after the film hits theaters.

The centerpiece of the event is a dedicated area built around the film. The heart of the takeover is the Doomsday Zone, opening November 16 in stores nationwide, with themed entry arches marking the point of Doomsday domination. Locations will also feature Doomsday-centric decor, including signage and game screens.

There’s plenty to collect while playing. The takeover offers Collectible Power Cards featuring Thor, Doctor Doom, Yelena, and more, and it also brings a themed Avengers Funko pusher stocked with Avengers-only Funko prizes, along with limited-time Avengers-inspired cotton candy flavors. Individual attractions and prizes will vary by location.
Doom’s rule comes with a perk for loyal players. DOOMHOUR is a surprise hour in which D&B Rewards members earn double tickets on green-swipe games. In keeping with the theme, Doctor Doom rewards the loyal and chooses the hour.

The takeover reaches the bar as well. Fans can toast Doom’s rule with drinks like Doomsday’s Dominion, Multiverse Mule, Fantastic Flight, Panther’s Potion and Captain Punch. The lineup includes 3 cocktails made with Smirnoff alongside mocktails. The signature drink sounds suitably villainous. Doomsday’s Dominion mixes vodka, melon liqueur, pineapple, and lemon-lime soda, with a “Black Magic” sidecar.

It’s a creative approach that makes Doctor Doom feel bigger than just a movie villain. Rather than creating a traditional promotion, Dave & Buster’s transformed its entire business into an immersive celebration of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.
With Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom set to face the Avengers in theaters next month, fans can get their first taste of his reign on the arcade floor. Just don’t expect to beat him at skee-ball.
