Doctor Doom Takes Over the Concession Stand as Cinépolis Reveals New ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Collectibles
Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom is already conquering movie theaters, at least at the snack counter. Ahead of the December 18 release of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, theater chains around the world have been steadily unveiling villain-themed popcorn buckets and cups, and fans have been snapping up every glimpse.
The craze has been building for months. Back in December, artist Bosslogic’s fan-made Doom bucket concept drew hundreds of thousands of views, and Downey himself shared the artwork, while Marvel later released an ‘Endgame Encore’ poster on September 25 showing Doom in a theater seat holding a red nano gauntlet full of popcorn under the words “Doom Shall Attend.”
Now Cinépolis has entered the fray with a fresh batch of official collectibles. According to images shared by a Doom-focused fan account, the chain announced a lineup of cups and buckets featuring 3 variations of Doom’s hooded green-and-silver mask alongside 3 versions of a purple-and-silver armored helmet design.
The promotional graphic, branded with the ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ logo, also shows a larger sculpted Doom head with glowing green eyes. The fan account added that a popcorn bucket depicting Doom’s full torso is set to be announced separately, sharing what appears to be concept art for the piece.
Cinépolis isn’t the first chain to get in on the action. Cinemark offered an early look at its own collectibles in early October, headlined by a bucket sculpted into Doom’s hooded metal mask with glowing green eyes.

Its matching drink cup is even more elaborate, showing Doom seated on a carved stone throne with the Avengers and Fantastic Four logos embossed above him. The cup is topped with translucent green pieces and a green straw. Some reports also pointed to a third item, a cylindrical bucket printed with a full image of Doom that comes with a matching coin. It still isn’t confirmed where that one will be sold.
So far, the real Doom collectibles have come from international theaters. As of mid-October, every ‘Doomsday’ bucket and cup making the rounds originated with chains in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Guatemala, and Spain, with no U.S. theater having announced one yet.

Cinépolis Brasil previously teased a sculpted Doom bust with his arms crossed, labeled as a Cinépolis exclusive. In Spain, Cine Yelmo has promoted that same bust as a popcorn bucket, along with a hooded Doom head drink cup.
Fans should also stay alert. Fake ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ buckets recently appeared on AliExpress, including a hooded Doom head, a Doom bust, and a throne cup, before the listings vanished.
The online reaction to the Doom merchandise has been both enthusiastic and hilarious. One fan joked that scooping popcorn out of Doctor Doom’s head is the only way anyone is beating him, while others simply said they need the head immediately.

Downey’s return to the MCU as the villain has clearly fueled the frenzy. Some have noted that having Doom on these collectibles is the next best thing to seeing Iron Man on them, given the popularity of the ‘Endgame’ Iron Man bucket.
The concession stand isn’t the only place Doom is showing up. A Pop Mart figure revealed a regal ‘Lord Doom’ look, while Hot Toys previously unveiled a more basic, cloth-based ‘Victor Von Doom’ variant.

With ‘Avengers: Endgame’ recently overtaking ‘Avatar’ as the highest-grossing film of all time at $2.925 billion thanks to its ‘Encore’ re-release, Marvel’s merchandising machine is running at full speed. U.S. theater chains are expected to reveal their own buckets sometime in mid to late November.
