What happened to Inosuke during the battle with Daki?
The moment that had everyone scared in the latest episodes of Demon Slayer was when Gyutaro impaled Inosuke through the chest from behind his back. It was a pretty brutal scene and the attack itself was something people usually die off. So, what happened to Inosuke? Let us see what the narrative says.
The battle we are talking about here happened during the Entertainment District Arc, when Daki and Gyutaro faced a team of your Demon Slayers and Nezuko. Tanjiro, Inosuke, Zenitsu, and Tengen Uzui participated in the battle on the side of the Demon Slayers. After a prelude battle between Tanjiro, Nezuko and Daki, the team faced the demonic siblings head on.
As the battle raged on, Daki and Gyutaro coordinate their attacks to corner the demon slayers. As Tanjiro was about to jump off the roof of a building to help Tengen, a voice can be heard telling them to be careful as Inosuke and Zenitsu fall onto the roof while fighting the Obi. Inosuke and Zenitsu ask Tanjiro for help to defeat Daki. He agrees and asks that they finish quickly to help Tengen.
Hinatsuru tells the boys that she will quickly hide so they can focus on the fight, and disappears as they face Daki. She is excited when Tanjiro joins their fight and tells his comrades that they need a quick attack to cut her neck. Inosuke notices that she has slowed down and decides to attack first, while Zenitsu agrees with Tanjiro to protect him from behind.
Inosuke charges forward using Beast Breathing, Eighth Fang: Explosive Rush, while Zenitsu and Tanjiro use Thunder Breathing, First Form: Thunderclap and Flash, Eightfold and Water Breathing, Third Form: Flowing Dance to protect Inosuke from the Obi.
Daki begins to collapse under the pressure as Inosuke approaches her, and manages to draw both of his blades on either side of her neck. Inosuke buries his heels into the ground as he uses Beast Breathing, Sixth Fang: Palisade Bite to effectively decapitate Daki. Tanjiro smiles with delight as he sees Inosuke jump and catch Daki’s head in mid-air, rejoicing that he has successfully cut off her head.
Inosuke says that they must act quickly to separate the head from her body. After they successfully decapitate Daki, Inosuke is seen fleeing with her head to prevent her from reconnecting it to her body. He tells the other boys not to worry about him and to help Tengen instead, but before he can get to safety, Daki uses her hair to fight back.
He manages to break their resistance, but before he can escape, Gyutaro appears behind him and impales him in the chest. Tanjiro watches in horror as Gyutaro grabs Daki’s head while Inosuke collapses on the roof.
As Tanjiro tries to decapitate Gyutaro after landing a surprise attack on him, Daki can be seen getting up in the face of the sudden turn of events and trying to help her brother, but before she can approach them, Zenitsu manages to break free from the rubble.
He attacks them by using Thunder Breathing, First Form: Thunderclap and Flash to draw her attention, and then uses his Godspeed extension to quickly attack her neck. Zenitsu asks his blade to cut her neck, as he had the chance to escape from the rubble and attack her while Gyutaro was overwhelmed.
While Tanjiro and Tengen fight Gyutaro off and try to decapitate him, Daki can be seen resisting Zenitsu’s attempt to decapitate her. She attempts to kill Zenitsu with her obi at close range, but Inosuke unexpectedly rushes over and reveals that he has protected his heart from being stabbed by rearranging his organs.
He also reveals that poison has no effect on him, having grown up in the mountains before helping Zenitsu decapitate Daki. The three boys roar as they muster the strength to cut the demons’ necks. After the long fight, Zenitsu and Inosuke manage to decapitate Daki on the roof, while Tanjiro simultaneously decapitates Gyutaro on the ground.
