Dominique Thorne Talks Anthony Ramos’ Dark Role in Ironheart and Their Unique On-Screen Dynamic

Dominique Thorne is opening up about what it’s been like working alongside Anthony Ramos on Marvel’s upcoming series Ironheart. The two actors take on very different roles in the show, Thorne plays Riri Williams, the young tech genius who becomes Ironheart, while Ramos plays the main villain, The Hood. But according to Thorne, what makes their dynamic even more interesting is who Ramos is off-screen.

Talking about her co-star, Thorne told fans just how different Ramos is from the character he’s playing. “He’s a sweetheart in person, but of course now he’s playing this super dark villain,” she said. “That’s a fun dichotomy to have when you’re looking to turn that whole hero-villain relationship on its head, the way we do in this show.”

This contrast between Ramos’s kind personality and the darker, more intense nature of his character adds an unexpected layer to the storytelling in Ironheart. It’s something Thorne clearly enjoys, and it hints at how the show will approach the usual good-versus-evil formula in a more complicated way.

The Hood, a lesser-known but powerful character from Marvel Comics, brings magic into the equation, a big change from Ironheart’s tech-driven world. The clash between science and mysticism is expected to play a big role in the series, and this mix of tones and powers could make Ironheart feel very different from other Marvel shows.

Some past rumors also claimed that The Hood is here to stay in the MCU, that he is not a one-time villain.

Ironheart was first teased in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, where Thorne made her debut as Riri Williams. The upcoming series on Disney+ will follow her solo journey as she builds her own advanced armor and steps fully into the superhero world. With Anthony Ramos bringing something darker and more mysterious to the story, fans can expect a more personal, emotional conflict between the two leads.
