Dove Cameron Gives Fans a Sneak Peek Into Her Engagement at Actor Awards 2026
Dove Cameron made a stunning appearance at the 32nd Annual Actor Awards on Sunday, March 1, held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The star, who has been a mainstay in the headlines lately, walked the red carpet just weeks after the premiere of her new series, 56 Days.
While the night was a celebration of acting, the conversation quickly turned to her personal life and her recent engagement to MÃ¥neskin frontman Damiano David. Speaking with E! News correspondent Justin Sylvester, Cameron reflected on the whirlwind of the past few months since the couple went public with their news.
It’s been beautiful. It’s surreal, she said while describing their new chapter. However, she admitted that she is intentionally pulling back on how much she shares with the public. I’m trying to talk about it less, if I’m honest, because I started talking about it so much. After all, we were so excited. And now I’m like, “Maybe I want to keep some of this for myself.”

This new boundary follows a period where the actress was quite open about their dynamic, often describing them as quite genuinely private individuals who prefer domestic life over the Hollywood party scene.
During a previous podcast appearance, she recalled the ridiculous way they first met backstage at the VMAs. She joked that their meeting sounded like a book, like a fan fiction, even though it wasn’t exactly love at first sight, as David was initially quite standoffish.
The couple officially confirmed their engagement on January 3, after months of speculation following a diamond ring being spotted by paparazzi in late 2025. Cameron eventually took to Instagram to share the milestone, posting a series of photos with the caption, my favorite part of being alive.
Happy New Year. She later told Jimmy Fallon that the proposal happened while they were at home in their pajamas, catching her completely by surprise while they were packing for a trip.
Professionally, Cameron is currently enjoying the success of 56 Days, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video on February 18. The eight-episode psychological thriller, based on the novel by Catherine Ryan Howard, stars Cameron as Ciara Wyse and Avan Jogia as Oliver Kennedy.
The plot follows a young couple who meet in a supermarket and move in together after just a few days, only for a decomposed body to be found in their apartment 56 days later. The series has been a hit for the streaming platform, with critics praising the intense chemistry between Cameron and Jogia.
Beyond her recent thriller, the 30-year-old artist is preparing for the release of her highly anticipated debut studio album, tentatively titled DC1. The project, which has been in development for several years following her 2023 EP Alchemical: Volume 1, is expected to drop later this year under Columbia Records.
It will feature several of her recent singles, including “Hello My Old Lover” and “Whatever You Like,” marking a more mature, synth-pop direction for her music career. Fans are also keeping a close eye on rumors regarding her return to the Descendants universe, as several reports suggest she may make a cameo in an upcoming project exploring the legacy of her character, Mal.
Additionally, she is slated to begin production on a new independent drama this summer, though the plot remains under wraps. Between her thriving music career, her success in the thriller genre, and her upcoming wedding, Cameron’s year is shaping up to be her most transformative yet.
