Fans of Dragon Ball Super may finally get a new season in April 2026, nearly seven years after the TV anime last aired.

According to a report from ScreenRant, the announcement might come during the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 event in Los Angeles, scheduled for April 19–20.

The Dragon Ball Super anime ended in May 2018 with the Tournament of Power Saga. Since then, the franchise has focused on movies like Dragon Ball Super: Broly and Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, as well as the recent Dragon Ball Daima anime.

Executive producer Akio Iyoku has hinted at more Dragon Ball content in the works. After Dragon Ball Daima, he said the team is “working hard to move various things forward” and confirmed that the Dragon Ball anime will continue.

The Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour is an annual event mainly focused on the franchise’s games, but it has also been used in the past to announce updates about the anime. The official event page promises “the latest information and appeal of ‘Dragon Ball,’ which continues to be developed in multiple forms including the original manga, anime, movies, games, figures, and toys, to fans around the world.”

While there is no official confirmation yet, the hints and timing have fueled speculation that Dragon Ball Super could officially return during the April 2026 event. Fans will need to wait for further announcements from Toei Animation for confirmation.

After such a long wait, a Dragon Ball Super comeback would be a huge moment for fans around the world. The series has kept audiences engaged through movies and spin-offs, but a new TV season would bring back the excitement of the original show. Are you ready to see Goku and friends on screen again?
