Dua Lipa made headlines in Paris this week, not for music, but for fashion. The singer appeared at the Chanel Haute Couture show on January 27, where some of the biggest names in fashion gathered at the Grand Palais. The information comes from coverage tied to Paris Haute Couture Week and updates shared by Chanel.

The event was important for the brand. It marked the first couture collection under Matthieu Blazy, who recently stepped into his role at Chanel. Guests inside the venue saw designs built around careful detail, light fabrics, and updated versions of classic Chanel pieces. While many stars were in attendance, attention quickly shifted to Dua Lipa, especially among fans watching online.

Lipa is usually linked to modern, glossy looks that fit neatly into current Gen Z trends. This time, she chose something very different. Working with her longtime stylist Lorenzo Posocco, she wore a look from Chanel’s Métiers d’Art Spring 2026 collection. The outfit leaned more classic and structured, with a strong retro feel.

She wore a tweed skirt suit in bright yellow, black, and red. The edges of the suit were trimmed in red, creating what Chanel described as a “deliberately scorched effect”. Instead of layering, Lipa wore the jacket on its own. This choice drew attention to the sharp tailoring and the gold Chanel buttons.

Her accessories followed the same theme. She carried a Chanel Flap bag that matched the colors of her outfit. The bag is one of several recent designs by Blazy that Lipa has worn lately. She paired the look with ankle-strap heels, giving the outfit a more modern finish. Her jewelry also stood out, including a yellow-gold Tiffany & Co. engagement ring and statement earrings from Blazy’s Spring 2026 ready-to-wear line.

Her hair and makeup marked another clear shift. Lipa wore her hair in a deep side part, paired with bronzed skin and a dark mauve lip. The overall look felt closer to an ’80s-inspired style than the high-glam image she is known for.

Dua Lipa’s acting career is also growing. After appearing as Mermaid Barbie in Barbie and starring in the spy film Argylle, she has continued to take on film roles. Fashion insiders in Paris have also fueled rumors about her frequent visits to the Chanel atelier. Some believe these visits could be tied to something personal, possibly even a custom wedding dress ahead of her rumored wedding to actor Callum Turner.

Dua Lipa’s appearance in Paris showed a clear shift in her style. The move toward a more classic and structured look suggests she is comfortable changing direction and taking risks, even if it means leaving behind what once defined her image.
