Dwayne Johnson Would Love To Make A ‘Red Notice’ Sequel
Netflix’s biggest film yet, Red Notice, starring Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, and Ryan Reynolds is set to debut on the streaming platform on November 12. And apparently, Johnson is already teasing us with the possible sequel.
In a recent interview on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Podcast with Julia Cunningham, Johnson was asked about the possible Red Notice sequel:
“I would love to do more. It’s up to the audience, so we will see. I will tell you that just based off of reaction so far and what we’ve been able to cull from the audiences, there’s a good chance that we will see a return of this. And as a matter of fact, literally within the next hour, I’m meeting (director) Rawson Thurber here at this hotel, and he in his mind has a 45-minute pitch that apparently is really good for ‘Red Notice 2’. So we will see.”
Directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, Red Notice is following Johnson playing an FBI agent tasked to track down two rival criminals Nolan Booth (Reynolds) and Sarah Black (Gadot). With a reported budget of $200 million, it is one of the biggest Netflix movies to date.
Red Notice official synopsis:
When an Interpol-issued Red Notice — the highest level warrant to hunt and capture the world’s most wanted — goes out, the FBI’s top profiler John Hartley (Dwayne Johnson) is on the case. His global pursuit finds him smack dab in the middle of a daring heist where he’s forced to partner with the world’s greatest art thief Nolan Booth (Ryan Reynolds) in order to catch the world’s most wanted art thief, ‘The Bishop’ (Gal Gadot). The high-flying adventure that ensues takes the trio around the world, across the dance floor, trapped in a secluded prison, into the jungle and, worst of all for them, constantly into each other’s company.
