Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence Reunite at Sweet Baby Shower for Granddaughter Ari Skye
Jasmin Lawrence and Eric Murphy recently celebrated a very special moment in their lives: their upcoming baby. The couple, who are expecting a girl named Ari Skye, hosted a joyful baby shower surrounded by family and friends, including the proud grandfathers, Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence. Social media posts from The Shade Room captured the happy occasion.
The shower embraced a pink theme, reflecting the couple’s excitement for their baby girl. A backdrop in one of the pictures read: “On Cloud Nine: Waiting for Ari Skye.” Jasmin looked radiant in a long, off-the-shoulder baby pink dress, while Eric opted for a more casual look, wearing brown pants, a matching sweater, and sneakers.
Other family members were in attendance as well, including Jasmin’s mother, Patricia Southall, and Eddie Murphy’s wife, Paige Butcher.

The couple quietly married in May 2025 and quickly began building their family. Their wedding was a small church ceremony, far from the glitz of Hollywood. Eddie Murphy revealed the marriage during an appearance on the Jennifer Hudson Show in May 2025. Before that, Eddie and Martin Lawrence had joked about who would pay for the wedding.
Martin Lawrence, who is Jasmin’s father, has been especially thrilled about becoming a grandfather. In February, when the couple announced their pregnancy on Instagram, Martin shared his excitement with a heartfelt post

Jasmin and Eric first went public with their relationship in the summer of 2021, sharing birthday messages for each other online. Jasmin caught the bouquet at Bria Murphy’s wedding in 2022, and interestingly, both Jasmin and Bria are now expecting. Jasmin and Eric got engaged in November 2024, and Jasmin has described their love as one that “feels like destiny.”
