“Beyond: Two Souls” is a video game developed by Quantic Dream and released in 2013. It follows Jodie Holmes, a woman with supernatural powers, as she faces government conspiracies and otherworldly forces.

The game received praise for its unique storytelling, which features choices that impact the narrative, and the performances of Elliot Page and Willem Dafoe. However, some critics felt the gameplay was repetitive, and the story’s pacing was uneven, with mixed reactions to its interactive elements.

At the end of the day, it was a popular release so it’s no wonder that it’s next line to be adapted into a live-action project.

Elliot Page’s Pageboy Productions has acquired the rights to develop it into a live-action TV series.

The TV series adaptation is still in early development and will focus on Jodie’s journey from being a government experiment to a fugitive, exploring her powers and connection to Aiden.

Elliot Page, who starred in the game, said filming was a challenging but rewarding experience. He believes the story’s emotional depth provides a strong base for the show. The goal is to create a unique vision that appeals to both fans and new viewers.

Filming the game was one of the most challenging and fulfilling acting experiences of my career. The story’s rich narrative and emotional depth offer us a fantastic foundation. We want to create a unique vision of the characters and their journeys that resonates with fans and newcomers.

Matt Jordan Smith, Head of Development and Production at Pageboy, said the adaptation will respect the game’s legacy while bringing in new perspectives. He emphasized that the story will explore themes of survival and how small decisions can significantly impact lives.

This adaptation will honor the game’s legacy while inviting fresh perspectives. Delving into questions of survival and how split-second decisions can alter not just our lives, but the lives of others, are key to telling the story.

David Cage, the writer and director of Quantic Dream, expressed excitement about collaborating with Elliot Page again. He praised Page’s performance in the game and believed Page was the perfect person to bring the story to TV. Cage highlighted that ‘Beyond: Two Souls’ is a special game for many players and trusted Page to make the TV adaptation unique.

We are absolutely thrilled to collaborate again with Elliot Page on this project. I was blown away by his acting performance in the game, and I couldn’t think of anyone else to tell this story with the same passion on another medium. Beyond: Two Souls is a very special game for millions of players around the world who were moved by the story of Jodie and Aiden, and their journey in life and beyond. I know that Elliot has all the talent and instinct to make it something really unique on TV.
