Emilia Clarke reminded fans why she’s a red carpet favorite after a throwback from the 2025 Global Gift Gala in London resurfaced online. The actress, known for mixing classic elegance with a daring edge, wowed in a sheer black Alexander McQueen gown that captured both attention and admiration. The gala took place at the Kimpton Fitzroy Hotel and drew high-profile guests for a night of charity and style.
Clarke’s gown featured a plunging tulle neckline, delicate floral lace, and side cut-outs that added a bold, sophisticated touch. The event benefited various charitable causes, including SameYou, the brain injury recovery organization Clarke co-founded. She has long been an advocate for brain injury awareness following her own recovery from two aneurysms early in her career.

While the gala photos continue to circulate online, Clarke has stayed busy in 2026. She stars in the Peacock spy thriller Ponies, which premiered on January 15. Clarke plays Beatrice “Bea” Grant, a secretary at the American Embassy in 1977 Moscow who becomes a CIA operative after a personal tragedy. She also serves as an executive producer on the show.
Ponies is such a thrilling ride because it’s about these women who were invisible in history finally taking control of their own narratives, Clarke said during a recent promotional event in New York City.
Beyond television, Clarke has several film projects lined up, including the indie thriller McCarthy, where she plays Jean Kerr, wife of Senator Joseph McCarthy, and An Ideal Wife, a biopic about Constance Lloyd, Oscar Wilde’s wife. Both roles are expected to highlight her range in drama and period storytelling.
