Emma Heming Willis Shares Sweet Throwback with Bruce Willis to Celebrate Anniversary
Emma Heming Willis took a moment to honor a major milestone in her relationship with Bruce Willis as 2025 came to a close. The couple is celebrating 18 years since they first became a couple, and Heming Willis shared a rare throwback photo of them on Instagram along with a touching message.
“18 years ago, he became my boyfriend,” she wrote. “With one kiss on the top of my head, time stood still. I’m so lucky to know this kind of love 💙.”
The couple first met in 2007 and tied the knot on March 21, 2009. Over the years, they welcomed two daughters, Mabel and Evelyn, and built a close-knit family. Their joy, however, has been tempered by health challenges. In 2023, Bruce Willis was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, following an earlier diagnosis of aphasia in 2022.
Emma has been open about the difficulties the family faces. In a statement at the time of the diagnosis, she wrote that communication challenges are only one part of Bruce’s condition, and while the news was painful, having a clear diagnosis offered some relief. The family, including Bruce’s three older daughters with Demi Moore, Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah, have been supporting him throughout.
Rumer Willis shared her perspective on the family’s experience, saying, “I think, for me, through this experience, what’s been so incredible is my dad is so beloved, and that’s been so evident in the transparency with which we’ve been sharing. And I think if there’s any way sharing our experience brings hope—whatever comes forward as a family—that can have an effect and bring any sort of hope, comfort to someone else experiencing that, then to me, that’s everything.”
Despite the hardships, Emma and Bruce’s bond has remained strong, and her Instagram post is a heartfelt reminder of their enduring love.
It’s always moving to see couples like Emma and Bruce celebrate their long-term relationships, especially while navigating serious challenges together. Their openness about Bruce’s condition also helps raise awareness about dementia and shows the strength of family support.
