Emma Stone Returns to the New York Film Festival in Soft Louis Vuitton Slip Dress for ‘The Debut’ Premiere
Few stars have made the New York Film Festival feel as much like home as Emma Stone. In recent years, the Oscar winner has turned the festival into a fixture of her fall calendar, often arriving in fresh-off-the-runway Louis Vuitton looks.
In 2024, she attended the NYFF premiere of ‘A Real Pain’ at Alice Tully Hall in a semi-sheer striped Louis Vuitton gown that had debuted at Paris Fashion Week just days earlier. Stone produced that film, which was written and directed by Jesse Eisenberg.
Now the pair are back at the festival with another collaboration. On October 7, Stone attended the premiere of Eisenberg’s ‘The Debut’ at the 64th New York Film Festival, once again choosing Louis Vuitton for the occasion.
For the event at Alice Tully Hall, Stone wore a delicate slip dress in pale blush with a powder blue satin cowl-neck bodice. Thin spaghetti straps and a gently flowing, semi-sheer skirt gave the look an airy, effortless feel.
She kept the styling minimal, letting a stack of rings take center stage. Her long auburn hair fell in loose waves, paired with soft, natural makeup. Some fans online joked that her rings were doing more work than the dress itself. Others simply praised how cute and polished she looked against the festival’s teal backdrop.

The choice comes as no surprise. Stone has been a Louis Vuitton brand ambassador since 2017, and the label has become her red carpet signature. Working with longtime stylist Petra Flannery, she has worn the house for countless premieres.
Her standout moments include a custom crystal-and-pearl Louis Vuitton dress for the New York premiere of ‘Poor Things’ and a gauzy metallic look for ‘Bugonia’. This time, Stone is supporting the film from behind the camera.
She produced ‘The Debut’ alongside her husband, Dave McCary, and Ali Herting through their Fruit Tree banner, and the trio attended the premiere together. Written and directed by Eisenberg, the A24 musical comedy stars Julianne Moore as Mona Friedman, a shy New Jersey housewife who lands a part in a local stage musical despite having no experience.
Paul Giamatti plays the production’s domineering director, while Halle Bailey, Bernadette Peters and Havana Rose Liu also appear. Eisenberg wrote the music and lyrics for the show within the film. Emile Mosseri composed the score.

The premiere highlights how much Stone has grown as a producer. Fruit Tree has now backed multiple projects with Eisenberg, building a creative partnership that keeps bringing her back to the festival circuit.

For fans, it also offers another chance to see her signature red carpet style. Whether she’s starring or producing, Stone rarely misses an opportunity to make a fashion statement. With ‘The Debut’ building positive buzz, Stone’s NYFF tradition looks set to continue for years to come.
