After more than four years, Euphoria is finally returning. HBO announced on Wednesday that the third season of Sam Levinson’s hit teen drama will premiere in April 2026. The second season ended back in February 2022, leaving fans waiting a long time for the next chapter.

Levinson revealed that season 3 will include a major time jump. “Five years felt like a natural place because if they’d gone to college they’d be out of college at that time,” he said during an HBO Max presentation in London, according to Variety.

He added that the story will pick up with Rue, played by Zendaya, “south of the border in Mexico, in debt to [drug dealer] Laurie [Martha Kelly], trying to come up with some very innovative ways to pay it off.”

Fans can also expect a big wedding this season. Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) and Nate (Jacob Elordi) will get married. Levinson said, “Cassie is living in the suburbs with Nate, they’re engaged, and she’s very addicted to social media and envious of what appears to be the big lives that all of her high school classmates are living at this point in time. I will say that Cassie and Nate do in fact get married. I’m confirming it. And I promise that it will be an unforgettable night.”

The time jump will also show where the other characters are now. Levinson shared that Jules (Hunter Schafer) “is in art school, very nervous about having a career as a painter, and trying to avoid responsibility at all costs.” Maddy (Alexa Demie) is “working in Hollywood at a talent agency for a manager, she’s obviously got her own side hustles going.” Lexi (Maude Apatow) is now an assistant to a showrunner played by Sharon Stone, whom Levinson called “absolutely delightful and a true icon.”

Most of the original cast will return, including Eric Dane, Colman Domingo, Chloe Cherry, Dominic Fike, and Nika King. New additions to the cast include Rosalía, Trisha Paytas, Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Deadwyler, Eli Roth, Marshawn Lynch, and Sam Trammell. Past cast members Barbie Ferreira, who played Kat Hernandez, and the late Angus Cloud, who played Fezco, will not return.

Cloud tragically passed away in July 2023 from an accidental overdose.

Jacob Elordi spoke about his character Nate, saying that his main goal this season is “just to survive.” He added, “It’s a real treat to be a part of that show, and to play the quote-unquote bad guy. It’s always more fun. You don’t wanna play some morally superior, world-saving loser.”
