‘Euphoria’ Star Hunter Schafer’s ‘Blade Runner 2099’ Press Tour Is Turning Into a Masterclass in Method Dressing
Hunter Schafer has never treated fashion as an afterthought. A former model and a regular front-row fixture during fashion month, the 27-year-old actress has built a reputation as one of Hollywood’s most daring dressers, often embracing bright color blocking and unexpected accessories.
That instinct has become a key part of how she’s promoting ‘Blade Runner 2099’, Prime Video’s upcoming sequel series set 50 years after ‘Blade Runner 2049’. From the very first public appearance, Schafer and her stylist, Dara, have been using her outfits to nod to the franchise’s iconic, supersaturated aesthetic.
The latest example arrived at New York Comic Con, where Schafer stunned in another eye-catching ensemble. She wore a strapless bandeau top in teal and black stripes paired with a vivid red skirt splashed with dark brushstroke-style prints.
Photos from the event show her posing against a bright white backdrop, her long strawberry-blonde hair swept loosely around her face. The punchy color clash fits neatly into the high-contrast palette she has favored throughout the press tour.

Schafer appeared at the series’ NYCC panel alongside co-star Michelle Yeoh, where Prime Video unveiled a new trailer and 4 never-before-seen clips. She reportedly changed into several outfits over the weekend, keeping fans guessing with every appearance.
Schafer’s fashion storytelling started back at San Diego Comic-Con in July. Her first look came straight from the Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2027 runway, featuring a sheer yellow organza shirt that paid direct homage to Joi’s transparent yellow raincoat from ‘Blade Runner 2049’.
She paired it with brown nylon shorts, a red bodysuit and orange tights, keeping the look exactly as it appeared on the runway. Fashion editors praised the outfit for capturing the retro-futuristic spirit of the original 1982 film.
For a later panel that weekend, Schafer pulled a grey Prada Spring/Summer 2018 coat from her personal archive. That collection centered on female pop artists and boxy silhouettes with futuristic touches, making it another fitting reference to the franchise’s costume history.

She also wore a coveted archive Jil Sander piece during the convention. Together, the trio of looks was described as a fashion-geek flex that set the tone for the entire campaign. Schafer’s love of bold color hasn’t been limited to press events. During fashion month, she was spotted leaving Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles with comedian Ziwe, wearing a tight coral minidress with a deep purple capelet.
That pink-and-jewel-tone combination echoed trends seen on runways at New York Fashion Week. It also showed how consistently she has leaned into vibrant, unexpected pairings this year.

In the series, Schafer plays Cora, a human fugitive who must pretend to be a Blade Runner. She is forced to partner with Yeoh’s Olwen, a replicant Blade Runner nearing the end of her own lifespan.
The show imagines a future Los Angeles where replicants have become the dominant force. It is led by showrunner Silka Luisa, with Ridley Scott serving as an executive producer and ‘Shogun’ filmmaker Jonathan van Tulleken directing the first 2 episodes.

All 8 episodes of the limited series premiere on November 25 on Prime Video. That leaves plenty of time for more red carpets, interviews and, inevitably, more memorable outfits. If her looks so far are any indication, Schafer’s wardrobe will remain one of the most entertaining parts of the ‘Blade Runner 2099’ rollout. Each appearance seems designed to pull fans deeper into the show’s vibrant, dystopian world.
What do you think of Hunter Schafer’s bold fashion looks during the ‘Blade Runner 2099’ press tour?
