Few stars brought as much attention to this year’s Venice Film Festival as Sydney Sweeney. The ‘Euphoria’ actress arrived in Italy on September 2 for the 83rd edition of the festival, and her visit quickly became one of the most-photographed of the season.

Interestingly, Sweeney wasn’t on the Lido to promote a movie. She attended as a longtime global ambassador for Armani Beauty, the festival’s official beauty sponsor, joining fellow ambassadors Kendall Jenner and Jonathan Bailey in the floating city.

Weeks after the festival wrapped, Sweeney’s Venice trip is still giving fans something new to talk about. A previously unseen photo shared online on October 4 shows the actress smiling warmly at the camera during a night out in Venice, wearing a shimmering silver-grey sequined dress.

The dress features thin straps, one of them finished with a dark floral embellishment, and a sparkling sequined finish that catches the light even in the dimly lit evening setting. Sweeney paired it with long, loose blonde waves and soft, glowing makeup.

The candid snapshot has a relaxed, fun energy to it. Her bright smile and casual pose give it more of an off-duty feel than her polished red carpet appearances. Fans quickly embraced the photo. For many, it was a welcome reminder of one of her standout fashion moments of the year.

Sweeney’s Venice wardrobe leaned heavily on vintage fashion. For her arrival, she wore an archive look from Georges Chakra’s Spring 2003 collection, styled with Gianvito Rossi mules that tapped into 2026’s clear-heel trend.

She continued the archival theme at the Armani Beauty dinner. There, she wore a glittering gown from Armani’s fall/winter 2000 collection, a look Yahoo singled out among the festival’s standout red carpet moments.

Archival fashion was a recurring theme throughout the festival. Kendall Jenner also wore a vintage 1995 gown, while Nina Dobrev chose a vintage Armani design for her appearance.

Sweeney was in good company on the Lido. Robert Pattinson and Suki Waterhouse attended the screening of ‘Primetime’ on September 5, while Brittany Snow walked the carpet at the ‘Ink’ screening and opening ceremony. George Clooney also made headlines with the cast of ‘Furies’. In one playful moment, he grabbed a camera from a photographer to snap pictures of his co-stars himself.

While Venice was all about beauty and fashion, Sweeney has major film work on the horizon. In January 2026, it was announced that she would star in and produce ‘The Custom of the Country’, an Edith Wharton adaptation fully financed by StudioCanal with Josie Rourke directing.

Leo Woodall later joined the project, along with Josh Finan, Louis Garrel, Matthew Goode, Rose Leslie, Martha Plimpton and Irene Jacob. The adaptation is shaping up to be one of her most ambitious roles yet.

For now, though, fans seem perfectly happy reliving her Venice moments one photo at a time. If this sparkling snapshot is any indication, there may be more unseen images still to come.
