Fans of “The Wheel of Time” have more to look forward to as new projects are coming from iwot Studios. The company is teaming up with Thomas Vu, the producer behind Netflix’s hit animated series “Arcane” and former creative head at Riot Games, along with Anthony Borquez’s media company, Initiate Entertainment. Together, they will create a new video game, animated films, and an animated TV series based on Robert Jordan’s fantasy novels, Variety reports.

These new projects are separate from other upcoming “Wheel of Time” films and games. iwot Studios is already working on 3D feature “The White Tower,” a live-action movie called “Age of Legends” directed by Kari Skogland, and open-world RPG games through iwot Games Montréal. Vu’s video game and animation projects currently do not have a distributor or streaming partner. According to iwot Studios, the goal is to bring the story to more platforms and reach fans worldwide.

Variety also shared a first look at Vu’s proof-of-concept image for the main character, Rand al’Thor.

Vu said, “I see tremendous opportunity in expanding ‘The Wheel of Time’ into fully authentic, integrated, interactive, and animated storytelling experiences. The depth of the mythology provides a foundation for sustained, multi-platform franchise growth.”

Rick Selvage, CEO of iwot Studios, added, “Thomas has consistently demonstrated the ability to scale narrative worlds into global entertainment franchises. His background at the intersection of storytelling, technology, and franchise architecture makes him uniquely suited to help expand ‘The Wheel of Time’ in new immersive formats. We look forward to working closely with Thomas and Anthony as we bring the next chapter of ‘The Wheel of Time’ to audiences around the world.”

Borquez brings his experience from Grab Games and Grab Labs, companies that focus on interactive storytelling, AI, and video games. He also helped create video game programs at the University of Southern California.

These new projects are part of iwot Studios’ long-term plan to grow “The Wheel of Time” beyond the cancelled Amazon live-action series. Fans can expect new ways to experience the story through games and animation, making the world of the novels accessible in more ways than ever.

This is a big opportunity for “The Wheel of Time” to reach more fans and explore its world in fresh ways. Expanding into games and animation could give fans experiences that a TV show alone can’t offer. What do you think about these new projects? Share your thoughts in the comments.
