Exclusive First Clip Drops From Michael B. Jordan’s Next Project Following Oscar Victory
Netflix has released an exclusive clip from the upcoming animated film “Swapped,” which features Michael B. Jordan in a new voice acting role. The movie is scheduled to premiere on May 1, and it is already getting attention because of Jordan’s involvement and the unusual story idea.
This project marks a shift for Jordan, who is known for major live-action roles and recent award success. According to Netflix Tudum, this is also one of his first major steps into animation voice work after his Oscar win. His role has added early interest to the film even before its release.
In “Swapped,” Jordan voices a small forest creature living in a strange fantasy world. The story follows this character after a sudden body swap with a bird, played by Juno Temple. The situation pushes both characters into a difficult journey where they must work together to survive. Over time, their relationship grows into an unexpected friendship.

Director Nathan Greno explained the world of the film in a statement shared with Netflix Tudum. He said, “In this world, the creatures of the valley exist on a spectrum between plant and animal, creating a wild ecosystem. At the center of the film is the smallest creature in the valley, voiced by Michael B. Jordan, who suddenly finds himself swapped into a completely different body.”
The film uses a body-swap idea but sets it in a fantasy environment filled with different creatures. This gives the story both adventure and humor while keeping the focus on the characters’ personal growth and connection.
The cast also includes Tracy Morgan, Cedric the Entertainer, Justina Machado, Ambika Mod, and Lolly Adefope. The film is directed by Nathan Greno, with writing by John Whittington, Christian Magalhaes, and Robert Snow.
Jordan is known for his work in films like “Black Panther” and “Creed,” and this new role shows a different side of his career. The move into animation is also expected to introduce him to a younger and wider audience.
An exclusive clip from the movie is now available, giving fans an early look at the animation style and Jordan’s character in action ahead of the release.
This is an interesting direction for Michael B. Jordan. Moving into animation after major live-action success is not very common, and it could either expand his audience or feel like a risky change depending on execution. The idea of the story also sounds simple but has room to be fun if done well. What do you think about him taking on this kind of role in animation? Share your thoughts in the comments.
