Chris Noth is speaking out about the end of his longtime friendship with Sarah Jessica Parker. The actor, best known as Mr. Big from Sex and the City, shared his thoughts during an interview on the podcast Really Famous With Kara Mayer Robinson.

When asked about Parker, Noth was blunt. “We’re not friends, I think that’s pretty obvious,” he said. He pointed to the fallout from the sexual assault allegations made against him in late 2021 as the reason their bond broke.

Noth expressed frustration over a public statement Parker and her And Just Like That… co-stars Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis released in support of the women who came forward.

He felt betrayed. “The statement that they put out — which was nothing more than brand management, really — I don’t know, it was sad, it was disappointing, it was surprising, because you need to call me and hear my side of this,” Noth explained. “And you’ve known me for many years, and we’ve worked [together] for many years. And that didn’t happen.”

He described the experience as a lesson in Hollywood loyalty, showing him the difference between true friends and colleagues who only care about appearances. “I get it, that’s more Hollywood than Hollywood,” he said. “But before you make that statement, you know me, you’ve known me all these years, give me a call so I can give you the real scoop about this.”

Tensions between Noth and Parker recently resurfaced online when he appeared to agree with a fan criticizing Parker’s Golden Globe win. Noth later dismissed the incident as a “tempest in a teapot,” but it highlighted the ongoing strain between the two former on-screen partners.

The allegations, which emerged in December 2021, led to Noth being removed from the Sex and the City revival and from his role on CBS’s The Equalizer. He has denied all claims of non-consensual encounters but admitted to extramarital affairs, calling them a “side dance.”

Since then, Noth has mostly stayed out of the public eye to focus on his family and personal life. He is now preparing for a return to acting with the independent horror film The Block, directed by Craig Singer. The movie follows a former horror writer who faces a mysterious event that ends his writer’s block but comes with a dark cost. Noth stars alongside Jack Falahee and Jackie Earle Haley, marking his first major project in years.

Over a career spanning more than four decades, Noth has been known for his roles as Detective Mike Logan on Law & Order and Peter Florrick on The Good Wife. At 71, he says he still has much to offer and is determined not to let the allegations end his career.

Do you think Sarah Jessica Parker should have reached out to Chris Noth privately before going public, or was she right to immediately support the women who spoke out?
