While Daredevil: Born Again continues its successful run on Disney+, fresh glimpses from the set have confirmed a massive expansion for the show’s third season. Recent images captured in New York City reveal that the production is currently staging an expansive reunion of the original Defenders.

Actors Mike Colter and Finn Jones, who previously headlined their own Netflix series as Luke Cage and Danny Rand, were spotted filming alongside Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones. This upcoming season marks the first occasion that the four core street-level heroes will share the screen since their 2017 team-up miniseries.

Ritter is expected to make her initial reappearance as the hard-hitting private investigator during the final episodes of the ongoing second season. Her return was officially confirmed earlier this year, setting the stage for a narrative that deeply honors the grittier history of these characters while integrating them into the broader Marvel landscape.

The transition of these heroes from their original streaming home to the current platform has been a long-awaited move for the fanbase. Colter, whose character is known for his impenetrable skin and superhuman strength, previously hinted at this possibility during a podcast appearance in March.

Reflecting on the potential for a comeback, he suggested the timing felt right, stating, “Now it’s time. I’ve had discussions with Marvel, and I do think that it’s very, very likely that I will come back at some point, but I don’t know when. But I think I will.”

Finn Jones has also been vocal about his desire to step back into the role of Danny Rand to explore the character with a fresh perspective. During an appearance at an anime convention last year, he addressed previous criticisms and expressed a strong readiness to return to the martial arts-heavy role.

He made his intentions clear by saying, “I’m very aware of the critiques of the character and my role in it. My response to that is like, ‘Give me a f—ing chance, man.’ I’m here, and I’m ready. I want to prove people wrong. So I would love to see that happen.”

As the second season approaches its finale, viewers can also look forward to The Punisher: One Last Kill, a sixty-minute streaming special starring Jon Bernthal, which is scheduled to premiere on May 12.

Outside of her work with Marvel, Krysten Ritter has remained incredibly active, recently appearing in the Dexter sequel series Dexter: Resurrection as the recurring character Mia LaPierre.

Mike Colter is also diversifying his portfolio, as he is slated to star in the new legal drama Cupertino for CBS. The series is expected to debut during the 2026-2027 television season and follows a lawyer navigating the high-stakes world of Silicon Valley.
