Fans Call Out Kim Kardashian (45) Over Khloé’s (41) “Unrecognizable” Look
Kim Kardashian recently shared photos from a family trip to Tokyo, but the post quickly sparked a wave of criticism from fans. Many people on social media accused the reality star of using too many filters and editing her pictures until they looked fake.
One specific photo showed Kim and her sister Khloe posing in front of a toy machine. Followers pointed out that the sisters’ faces looked digitally altered and “cartoon-like.” Some critics noted that the height difference between the two sisters—Khloe is 5’10” and Kim is 5’2″—seemed to disappear in the image, making the proportions look wrong.
On platforms like Instagram and Reddit, users compared Kim’s social media look to her recent appearance at an Oscars party, claiming the two did not match. Some of the comments were quite blunt:
Facetuned to hell and back, wrote one user.
Another person commented on the heavy use of editing despite the sisters’ access to professional cosmetic procedures, saying, All the botox, filler etc and still the need to facetune!
Others focused on Khloe’s appearance in the shots, with one fan remarking, Khloe’s mouth/lips look HUGE lol, and another adding, Her nose is not that small and her lips are huge she looks cartoon like.
Despite the backlash, the trip appeared to be a significant one for Kim’s personal life. She was joined by her children and her boyfriend, British F1 driver Lewis Hamilton. Hamilton was in Japan for the 2026 Japanese Grand Prix. Sources told People that the two have a strong connection and that Kim is very interested in him.
The group spent their time visiting museums, playing at arcades, and even taking a samurai lesson. While Kim has previously called criticism of her photo editing “so dumb,” this latest trip shows she is sticking to her preferred aesthetic regardless of public opinion.
The pressure to look perfect on social media has reached a point where even the most famous people in the world feel they aren’t enough without a filter. It is a bit ironic to spend so much money on real-life beauty treatments only to hide the results behind a digital mask. While everyone wants to look their best, over-editing can often distract from the actual fun and memories of a family vacation.
What do you think about celebrities using heavy filters on their “candid” vacation photos? Have something to add? Let us know in the comments!
