Megan Fox has been turning heads for over two decades, starting as a fresh-faced actress and quickly becoming one of Hollywood’s most talked-about stars. Her career began in 2001 with the direct-to-DVD romantic comedy Holiday in the Sun, where she played Brianna Wallace, a spoiled heiress.

Early on, she made guest appearances on shows like What I Like About You and Two and a Half Men, and even appeared briefly as an extra in Bad Boys II. Her first feature film role came in 2004 opposite Lindsay Lohan in Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, playing a supporting but memorable role as Carla Santini, Lola’s rival. Around the same time, she joined the ABC sitcom Hope & Faith as Sydney Shanowski, staying with the series until it ended in 2006.

Fox’s real breakthrough came in 2007 when she landed the lead female role of Mikaela Banes in Transformers. Acting opposite Shia LaBeouf, she quickly became a household name. Her portrayal combined beauty, toughness, and charisma, earning her nominations for MTV Movie Awards and Teen Choice Awards.

The sequels solidified her status, though controversy arose during Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen when director Michael Bay reportedly asked her to gain weight, and she later described the filming conditions as extremely demanding. By the time she was set to return for the third installment, Fox had publicly criticized Bay, comparing working under him to working for Hitler. This clash led to her not being included in Transformers: Dark of the Moon, with Fox later clarifying her perspective in interviews with GQ and other outlets.

In 2009, Fox took on her first lead role outside of the Transformers franchise in Jennifer’s Body, written by Diablo Cody. Initially, critics were mixed on the film, but Fox’s performance received praise.

Over time, the movie developed a cult following and is now often called a “forgotten feminist classic,” with Cody saying the studio’s marketing missed the mark by focusing on a male audience. Around the same period, she filmed Jonah Hex, though the project was poorly received at the box office and by critics, and Fox described her part as more of a cameo despite top billing.

The 2010s saw Fox exploring a variety of projects. She worked on films like Passion Play and This Is 40, appeared in music videos like Eminem and Rihanna’s “Love the Way You Lie,” and voiced characters in animated projects such as Robot Chicken DC Comics Special. She returned to familiar territory with Michael Bay on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in 2014, taking on the role of April O’Neil. She also made her mark on television with a guest stint on New Girl as Reagan Lucas, earning praise for her comedic timing. Her later films, like The Battle of Jangsari and Above the Shadows, allowed her to show a more serious, dramatic side of her acting range.

Megan Fox’s public image has always been linked to her s** appeal. Media outlets like MTV and the Los Angeles Times described her as a “21st-century s** symbol,” often referencing iconic scenes like her appearance on a Camaro in Transformers. Fox has spoken openly about this, explaining that she crafted a public persona that leaned into s**** without sacrificing her true self.

She said, “All women in Hollywood are known and marketed as s** symbols, but this is okay if the woman knows how to use the status.” Her tattoos and outspoken personality further helped define her as edgy and unapologetic, though she also faced challenges being typecast and oversaturated in the media.

Today, Fox balances family life and her career. After her marriage and divorce from Brian Austin Green, she began a relationship with Machine Gun Kelly, and they share a daughter born in 2025. Professionally, she continues to work in film and voice acting, with recent projects including Subservience and Five Nights at Freddy’s 2. Fox also published her first book, Pretty Boys Are Poisonous, a collection of her poetry. Despite the ups and downs of fame, Fox remains a powerful figure in Hollywood, known for combining s** appeal, talent, and a strong personal voice.
