Fans Can’t Stop Sharing a ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Clip of the Punisher Belting Out ‘A Thousand Miles’
Few pairings in recent Marvel history have won over audiences like Tom Holland’s Peter Parker and Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle. ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ threw the friendly neighborhood hero together with Marvel’s most violent vigilante, and their odd-couple dynamic quickly became a fan favorite.
That chemistry was obvious long before the film opened. Holland has said he’s known Bernthal since he was 17, and that their on-screen relationship turned into a funny big brother, little brother dynamic once they started riffing on set. Director Destin Daniel Cretton has praised the duo’s chemistry too, saying it surfaced in unexpected ways that couldn’t have been scripted.
Now a new clip shared online by fans is giving people another reason to love the pairing. The short video, which fans are describing as a deleted scene, has spread quickly across social media.
In the footage, Frank is driving a van with Peter in the passenger seat, still in his Spider-Man suit and visibly beaten up. When Vanessa Carlton’s ‘A Thousand Miles’ starts playing, Frank excitedly announces that he loves the song and starts singing along, while Peter stares at him in silence.

The contrast is what makes it work. Watching the gruff, battle-scarred Punisher sing along to an early-2000s pop hit is about as unexpected as it gets, and Holland’s deadpan reaction completes the joke.
It’s worth noting that the clip hasn’t been confirmed as official footage. The video carries a fan creator’s watermark, and none of the officially released deleted scenes or bonus material for the film so far includes a van moment like this.
That doesn’t mean it isn’t real, but fans should treat it with some caution until Marvel or Sony confirms where it came from. Cretton has reportedly said the film has surprisingly few deleted scenes, though he has also confirmed that both shorter and longer cuts of the film exist.

Some of what was left out has already been revealed. Following the film’s digital release on October 6, a gag reel surfaced with highlights including on-set exchanges between Holland and Bernthal, along with a first look at deleted footage.
One extended sequence shows Frank bringing a badly injured Spider-Man to a hospital, where medics cut him out of his suit. Behind-the-scenes photos shared by military advisor Colton Hill also showed a scrapped moment in which a police officer confronts Frank.
Rosario Dawson also filmed a scene as a nurse that was cut from the final film. With home media on the way, fans are hoping more footage, and possibly an extended cut, will eventually be released.
The excitement around anything extra from the film makes sense given its enormous success. ‘Brand New Day’ crossed $2.5 billion worldwide in early October, becoming only the third film ever to reach that mark.

The film earned more than $954 million in North America alone and is heading to 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD on December 15. A theatrical re-release is reportedly also being planned. Whether this clip turns out to be official or not, the reaction shows how much audiences enjoy seeing Holland and Bernthal together.
Their mix of brutality and comedy gave the film some of its most memorable moments. With Frank now firmly part of Peter’s world, many fans are already hoping for more scenes like this, singing included, in future Spider-Man adventures.
