Fans of the classic Christmas movie Home Alone have spotted several mistakes in the film that they say are glaring enough to “ruin Christmas.”

TikToker @1minutecritic recently highlighted three errors in the movie, which has been a holiday favorite since its release. The first involves a minor scene with a child and a van driver. When the driver tells the child to “hit the road,” a close-up shows the child’s lips clearly mouthing the actor’s line instead of speaking it.

Another mistake appears during Kevin McCallister’s famous sledding scene. A shot looking down the staircase shows that the stairs don’t align with the front door, yet Kevin magically makes it outside. Observant viewers also noticed the sled’s wheels are visible while he flies through the air, breaking the illusion.

Continuity errors were also pointed out. In one scene, Kevin’s pants change colors multiple times. He starts with dark pants, switches to blue jeans when he returns home, and then changes back again shortly after as he prepares another booby trap.

Despite pointing out these errors, the TikToker made it clear that they still love the film. Fans on social media had mixed reactions. Some wrote, “This movie can have 1000 flaws and I’d still love it,” while others jokingly said, “Christmas ruined. Thanks man.”

Home Alone remains a staple of holiday movie marathons, loved for its humor, charm, and inventive traps, even if a few mistakes sneak through.

Minor errors in movies like this are easy to overlook, and they don’t take away from the joy and nostalgia that Home Alone brings every holiday season. Do you notice these kinds of mistakes when watching your favorite Christmas films? Share your thoughts in the comments.
