Fans Go Wild as Knull’s Voice Actor is Revealed in ‘Venom: The Last Dance’: “This is probably the best villain voice I’ve heard yet”
In less than a week, the SSU will proudly introduce Knull—the King in Black, one of Marvel’s most formidable and fascinating villains. Despite being a relatively new character in Marvel comics, he has generated significant buzz leading up to the film’s release.
While we should temper our expectations, as the director of Venom: The Last Dance has stated that this is just the beginning for Knull, we’re still excited to catch every glimpse of him. However, based on the promotional materials released so far, it appears his role will be limited to only a few scenes.
It appears that Knull will heavily utilize CGI, but a voice actor is still needed to bring the character to life. The recently released promo suggests that the voice will be provided by none other than Andy Serkis. While there hasn’t been any official confirmation, the voice clearly belongs to Serkis, which serves as a strong indication of his involvement.
Rumors about Andy Serkis portraying Knull surfaced when the character was first confirmed for the movie, so this news isn’t particularly surprising.
Serkis is well-known for his pioneering motion capture performances, especially as Gollum in The Lord of the Rings trilogy and Caesar in The Planet of the Apes trilogy. His impressive resume also includes roles as King Kong in King Kong (2005), Ulysses Klaue in Black Panther (2018), and Supreme Leader Snoke in Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015).
Given his extensive experience, Serkis was always a natural choice for the role, and fans have responded overwhelmingly positively to the announcement.
