Netflix has renewed Emily in Paris for a sixth season. The romantic dramedy, led by Lily Collins, continues to be one of the platform’s most popular shows.

The renewal comes less than three weeks after season five premiered on Netflix, according to viewing data shared by the streamer.

Season five pulled in strong numbers right away. The show reached 26.8 million views worldwide in its first 11 days, based on 155 million hours watched. Each season runs just under six hours in total, which helped push those figures quickly.

The latest season took Emily out of France and into Italy. She spends part of the season in Rome, where she opens a new satellite office for the marketing agency she works for. While there, she begins a new romantic relationship. By the end of the season, however, Emily decides to leave Italy and return to Paris.

Series creator Darren Star explained Emily’s choice in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “She really chooses her own life in Paris and her work, and what she’s worked so hard to achieve,” he said. “I think ultimately that’s where her heart was and it clarified for her the fact that she wants to be in Paris and she wants to live there, and it’s not a temporary thing.”

Star also hinted that Emily’s complicated romance with Gabriel may not be over. Gabriel, played by Lucas Bravo, has been part of the show’s central love story since the beginning. Star made it clear that season six will not rush anything, but the connection is still there. “I don’t think that Emily and Gabriel would be … I don’t think it’ll be an instant relationship, though I do believe that people can find their way back to each other,” he said.

Season five featured a large cast alongside Collins and Bravo. Returning actors include Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, William Abadie, and Lucien Laviscount. The season also brought in several new and recurring faces such as Eugenio Franceschini, Minnie Driver, Bryan Greenberg, and Michèle Laroque.

Emily in Paris is produced by Paramount Television Studios along with Darren Star Productions and Jax Media. Darren Star serves as executive producer alongside Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, Andrew Fleming, Stephen Brown, Alison Brown, Robin Schiff, Grant Sloss, and Joe Murphy.
