Fans Were Stunned When McKenna Grace Revealed What Was in Her Dress Pocket at the Oscars

Mckenna Grace brought a unique and playful energy to the 98th Academy Awards on March 15, showing that she is more than just a talented actress. While walking the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre with her partner and co-star, Mason Thames, Grace revealed a hobby that most people might not expect to see at a formal event.

She admitted that she had packed a few items in her pockets that were better suited for a trading session than a trophy ceremony. The young star quipped to Entertainment Tonight that she was on a mission to be the first person to handle Pokémon cards during the Oscars.

So, Mason and I were talking, and I was like, ‘I’m really into Pokémon cards. I want to try and be the first person to open Pokémon cards at the Oscars,’ she explained. She even shared that she had already slipped a card to Thames earlier in the evening to get the ball rolling.

When asked if she would consider trading some of her more valuable golden cards with other fans at the event, she kept her options open. Maybe, we’ll see, she teased with a smile. I might keep them for myself.

While her collection of mythical creatures was a fun talking point, her fashion choice for the evening was equally impressive. She wore a blush pink Vera Wang gown that paid homage to the iconic silk dress Gwyneth Paltrow wore when she won her Oscar in 1999.

The look featured a fitted bodice and a dramatic train, which she accessorized with a shimmering diamond necklace and a classic bun. The night was also a celebration of her professional partnership with Thames, as the two recently collaborated on the film Regretting You.

The movie is an adaptation of the popular novel by Colleen Hoover and allowed the pair to explore a romantic storyline on screen. Grace noted that working together was a lovely experience, especially since she has known Thames for many years.
