The Fantastic Four are finally back, and they made their first big appearance at the world premiere of The Fantastic Four: First Steps in Los Angeles.

The premiere was held at the famous Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, where the movie’s four stars, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, showed up to celebrate their roles as Marvel’s First Family.

It wasn’t just the main cast walking the blue carpet. The event also welcomed other stars from the film like Sarah Niles, Julia Garner, Natasha Lyonne, Paul Walter Hauser, and Ralph Ineson. Familiar faces from past Marvel projects also made an appearance, including Simu Liu from Shang-Chi and Arian Moayed from Succession.

Niousha Noor from The Persian Version and even past Fantastic Four actors like Doug Jones, Ioan Gruffudd, and Rebecca Staab came to support the new reboot. Fans even got a look at the movie’s robot character H.E.R.B.I.E. live at the event.

Adding to the excitement, fans dressed as the Fantastic Four lined the carpet, and the famous Fantasticar was displayed as part of the installations. Skywriting above the venue showed off the group’s classic “4” logo, creating a picture-perfect moment for everyone there.

The movie itself, which arrives in theaters on July 25, is directed by Matt Shakman, known for his Emmy-nominated work. This new film is the fourth attempt to bring Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm to life on the big screen.

This time, the story unfolds in a ‘60s-inspired parallel universe, giving audiences a retrofuturistic version of the superhero team.

Early reviews from critics have been surprisingly positive. According to the first reactions, many are calling First Steps “quite possibly the best Marvel Studios film ever released” with “immaculate” visual effects and a “pitch-perfect script.”

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige was also at the premiere and spoke about why Marvel decided to reboot the Fantastic Four. He said the choice was simple. “Why Fantastic Four? Because it’s Marvel’s First Family. It’s in the history of our characters; they deserve to be A-listers,” Feige explained.

He pointed out that while the Fantastic Four played big roles in the original comics, Marvel couldn’t include them in earlier films like the Avengers series due to Fox owning the rights. After Disney bought Fox in 2019, the path was finally clear to bring the team into the MCU.

Feige also made it clear that audiences don’t need to watch previous Marvel films to enjoy this one. “The film is a no-homework-required movie kicking off Phase Six of the MCU,” he added.

The Fantastic Four are set to return in a big way, and from the looks of the premiere, Marvel fans are ready for them.
