Fast & Furious 10: Jason Momoa Is In Talks To Play The Movie’s Villain

BOOM! A piece of absolutely bombastic news just surfaced! According to The Hollywood Reporter, Aquaman star Jason Momoa is in negotiations to join Vin Diesel and the rest of the family in the tenth installment (wow, we are still counting) of the Fast & Furious franchise, which is set to be the first part of the two-part finale.

Fast & Furious 10 was originally planned as the finale of the main series until Universal Pictures decided to announce the eleventh movie in 2020, which will be filmed back-to-back with the tenth installment. The production of both movies is set to begin soon, and Fast & Furious 10 is set to hit theaters in May 2023.

Many known actors played the villains in the Fast & Furious franchise. Luke Evans, Jason Statham, Charlize Theron, and John Cena. What’s interesting, all villains played by these actors were turned into good guys later, except Theron’s Cipher, who was the primary villain of Fast & Furious 8, and the secondary villain in Fast & Furious 9. Although Theron’s return in the tenth movie is still to be confirmed, considering the ending of the previous movie, we are sure we haven’t seen the last of Theron’s cyber-terrorist. There are also rumors that a spin-off centered on the character might be in development.

The Fast & Furious franchise grew into one of the biggest movie franchises ever. And although the audience is expressing fatigue, every movie is still very successful, no matter how dumb or unrealistic they appear to be. The latest installment, Fast & Furious 9, was released last summer (during the pandemic) and it grossed $726 million worldwide.

Now, Jason Momoa, one of the most beloved actors in Hollywood, best known for his roles in Aquaman, Game of Thrones, and last year’s Dune, is reportedly in talks to join the next Fast movie in the villainous role. Vin Diesel versus Jason Momoa? Sold!

Vin Diesel is returning as Dominic Toretto, and the rest of the family is also expected to return (except Dwayne Johnson, who made it clear he’s done with the franchise). Justin Lin, veteran director of the franchise, is set to direct the upcoming two movies which will serve as the conclusion to this action blockbuster franchise.

Fast & Furious 10 is set to be released on May 19, 2023.
