The Fast & Furious franchise has always been known for fast cars, unreal action, adrenaline, and everything that goes with that. Every new installment is among the most expensive movies ever produced, and part of that budget goes away on supercars that this franchise wants (and needs) to have. The seventh installment was known for having, and ultimately destroying, Lykan HyperSport, a limited-production car that costs around $3.4 million.
The tenth installment of the franchise is currently in production, and it’s set to be released next May. There are no reports on what the movie could be about, only that it’s going to continue the adventures of the family with a lot of known faces from the previous movies. Some new stars will also join the franchise in the next installment, but we know that the main stars of these movies are powerful beasts on four wheels.
The recent on-set footage reveals that the next movie will have DeLorean Alpha5. Never heard of it? It’s an upcoming battery electric sports car that was first revealed last May. Only 88 units will be produced, and the car is set to be released by the end of this year. The car will have a projected top speed of 155 mph, from 0 to 60 in less than 3 seconds. The battery life of the car will be able to last long enough for 300 miles without charging. You can check the on-set footage down below:
Knowing the Fast & Furious franchise, this car probably won’t survive to see the end of the movie, but we’re talking about Fast & Furious after all.
Louis Leterrier is directing the movie from the screenplay written by Justin Lin and Dan Mazeau. Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Scott Eastwood, Michael Rooker, Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron, and Cardi B are all reprising their roles from the previous movies. Daniela Melchior, Brie Larson, and Alan Ritchson joined the movie in undisclosed roles. Jason Momoa joined the movie as a new villain, while Rita Moreno joined to play Dominic Toretto’s grandmother.
Fast X is set to be released on May 19, 2023. The eleventh installment, which is set to be released in 2024, will conclude the franchise.
