Final Trailer Drops for Paul Feig’s ‘The Housemaid’ Starring Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried
Paul Feig’s upcoming thriller, The Housemaid, has released its final trailer, giving fans a glimpse into the dark secrets hiding behind a wealthy family’s perfect life.
The psychological thriller stars Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried and is based on Freida McFadden’s 2022 novel of the same name. Lionsgate has scheduled the film for release in the United States and Canada on December 19.
The story follows Millie Calloway, played by Sydney Sweeney, a young woman with a troubled past who becomes a live-in housemaid for the affluent Winchester family. Everything seems perfect at first, but Millie soon discovers that the household hides dangerous secrets.
Amanda Seyfried plays Nina Winchester, the matriarch of the family, while Brandon Sklenar portrays her husband, Andrew. The cast also includes Michele Morrone as Enzo, the groundskeeper, and Elizabeth Perkins as Andrew’s mother, Evelyn Winchester. Indiana Elle stars as the couple’s daughter, Cecelia, and the film features additional performances from Mark Grossman, Hannah Cruz, Megan Ferguson, and Ellen Tamaki.

According to reports, principal photography for the film took place in New Jersey from January to March. Paul Feig directed the movie, with Rebecca Sonnenshine adapting McFadden’s novel into a screenplay. Feig also produced the film alongside Todd Lieberman and Laura Fischer for Hidden Pictures. In addition to starring, Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried joined as executive producers, alongside the author Freida McFadden and Alex Young. Theodore Shapiro composed the score, marking his eighth collaboration with Feig.
The newly released final trailer showcases the tension and suspense at the heart of the film. Fans get to see Millie navigating her new role while slowly uncovering the disturbing truths of the Winchester household.
