The fourth episode of ‘Fire Country’ arrives next week with Station 42 under public pressure. CBS says the hour, titled “Winners and Losers,” finds the station under growing scrutiny as Bode and the volunteer firefighters take on a difficult test that ends in an unexpected rescue. It is a pivotal point for the series as the new volunteer program tries to prove itself.

Here is what viewers need to know about the ‘Fire Country’ fourth episode release date, the broadcast time, the streaming options and the early preview details. The hour also introduces a recurring character played by a familiar face from another firefighter drama. A guest star from the spinoff ‘Sheriff Country’ appears as well.

‘Fire Country’ Release Date and Time on CBS

The episode airs Friday, October 30, on the CBS Television Network, and the hour runs from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET/PT. That keeps the release date inside the show’s regular Friday night routine.

CBS has placed the drama at 9 p.m. Eastern and Pacific, which means 8 p.m. for viewers in the Central time zone. The fifth season premiered on October 9, and new installments have followed a weekly schedule since.

The run is also shorter than recent outings. According to Deadline, the CBS drama received a thirteen episode order, down from twenty in the fourth season. The finale date has not yet been announced.

Star Max Thieriot has framed the smaller episode count as an upside, speaking in October about the benefit of doing less. Behind the camera, Eric Guggenheim serves as showrunner, replacing Tia Napolitano.

Where to Watch ‘Fire Country’ on TV and Streaming

Viewers can watch live on CBS on Friday nights at 9 p.m. That remains the simplest way to catch the episode as it airs, and no special setup is required beyond a CBS channel.

The network lists the episode as streaming on Paramount+ Premium and the next day. Another guide notes that Paramount+ Essential and Premium subscribers can watch new episodes on demand the following day. Live streaming of the broadcast is available through the Premium tier.

Paramount+ lists the season as following a weekly release schedule, so there is no full season drop to plan around. The premiere followed the same pattern, arriving on CBS first and reaching the streamer the following day.

‘Fire Country’ Preview and What to Expect From “Winners and Losers”

TV Insider reported exclusively that Jay Hayden, who played Travis Montgomery on ‘Station 19’, will recur this season and makes his debut in this episode. The casting continues a pattern of the show welcoming former stars of that series.

His character, Mason, comes from a prominent Edgewater family and is a former professional baseball player who once played alongside Bode and Jake. That shared history sets up a reunion that could test loyalties at an already strained firehouse.

W. Earl Brown of ‘Sheriff Country’ guest stars in the hour. The script comes from Quincy Paglaro and the episode is directed by Kristi Korzec.

The story builds on what came before. The previous episode found Station 42 facing mounting financial pressure while Bode fought to show that Edgewater’s new volunteer firefighting program could make a difference. The season began after the flooding caused by the Pineville Dam collapse and introduced CJ Ryan, a firefighter with a complicated past. The following episode brings a crossover with ‘Sheriff Country’ built around a prison escape and a hostage crisis. With Station 42 under scrutiny and a former teammate of Bode and Jake arriving in town, will Mason prove to be an ally for the volunteer program or one more complication for Bode to manage?
