First Look at ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2 Concept Art Teases New Adventures on a Strange World

Originally planned as a miniseries, ‘Ahsoka‘ evolved into discussions about a second season, depending on the success of the first. After the show’s full release in October 2023, Dave Filoni shifted his focus from his upcoming ‘Star Wars’ crossover film to exploring a follow-up season for ‘Ahsoka.’
In January 2024, Lucasfilm confirmed that Filoni was officially working on ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2, aligning with his new role as Lucasfilm’s chief creative officer, where he oversees future Star Wars projects.
The first season of Ahsoka ends with Ahsoka and Sabine stuck in a new galaxy, while Thrawn and Ezra return to the main Star Wars galaxy. Baylan finds giant statues of the Mortis gods, powerful Force beings from The Clone Wars. Even if viewers hadn’t seen The Clone Wars, the creators hoped the statues would still leave a strong impression.
Dave Filoni, the show’s creator, had plans to continue the story but said he would be happy even if it ended there, since getting Ezra back was a big goal for him.
In the final scene, Anakin appears as a Force ghost, watching over Ahsoka and Sabine. Filoni said Anakin had always been there, but Ahsoka could only see him after her growth in episode five. That last shot shows the theme of master and apprentice, with Anakin, Ahsoka, and Sabine all representing different Jedi generations.
This is presumably where the second season will pick up.
Now, during Star Wars Celebration Japan, some new concept work for the second season has been revealed:
The images show “white” Ahsoka standing in front of the entrance to the massive temple on Peridea, and a battle against a space slug.
Rosario Dawson, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, and Eman Esfandi will return to star in season 2. In January 2025, Rory McCann was chosen to play Baylan Skoll, taking over the role after Ray Stevenson, who sadly passed away in May 2023.
