Takashi Yamazaki, the director of Godzilla Minus One and an Academy Award winner for Best Visual Effects, has unveiled his new design for Mechagodzilla. This fresh look for the iconic robot will be featured in the upcoming attraction GODZILLA THE RIDE: GREAT CLASH at Seibuen Amusement Park in Japan, set to open on August 1.

The ride promises an exciting ocean battle between Godzilla and the brand-new Mechagodzilla, which Yamazaki helped create alongside the GMO production team and Shirogumi Inc.

This latest Mechagodzilla is called the “KIJU type 0‐G BREAKER‐” and will be making its first appearance in this immersive experience.

Guests who visit the park will take on the role of “Godzilla surveillance crew members” aboard the Goose Nest, the flagship ship of the Emergency Defense against Gargantuan Encounter (EDGE) team.

The Goose Nest carries the Mechagodzilla and is equipped with a high-tech drone ship named “GOOSE,” capable of navigating underwater, on the surface, and in the air. During the 15-minute splash ride, participants will join a mission to find and confront Godzilla using the advanced technology on board.

Before the ride starts, visitors can explore a special pre-show area. This space features EDGE performers, large screens showing Godzilla attacking coastal areas, and detailed designs of the Goose Nest mothership. There’s also a life-sized mockup of the KIJU type 0‐G BREAKER‐ in its hangar, giving guests a close-up look at the new Mechagodzilla before the action begins.

GODZILLA THE RIDE: GREAT CLASH is the follow-up to Yamazaki’s earlier project, Godzilla the Ride: Giant Monsters Ultimate Battle, which is also running at Seibuen Amusement Park. Yamazaki, known for his dedication to the Godzilla franchise, is currently working on a new Godzilla movie, so fans have even more to look forward to.

This new ride combines thrilling visuals, storytelling, and Yamazaki’s unique creative vision to deliver an unforgettable adventure. The key visual and official logo for GODZILLA THE RIDE: GREAT CLASH have already been released, building excitement for the opening day.

According to the information from Seibuen Amusement Park and the production teams, this ride will offer a fresh and immersive way to experience the epic battles of Godzilla, brought to life by one of the most respected names in the franchise.

Fans of the King of the Monsters won’t want to miss this chance to see Yamazaki’s stunning Mechagodzilla design in action when the ride opens this summer.
