James Gunn, who is writing and directing the new Superman movie, confirmed that the Hall of Justice will appear in the film. But it won’t look like the usual version fans remember.

In fact, it’s not even finished yet. Gunn explained that the famous superhero headquarters is under construction and owned by a surprising character, Maxwell Lord.

“You see the Hall of Justice and you see that it’s not even finished yet… and it’s owned by Maxwell Lord and he owns the Justice Gang,” Gunn said during a recent interview.

Now, fans got their first direct look at the Hall of Justice in the upcoming movie:

The Hall of Justice is one of the most famous buildings in DC Comics. It’s known as the main base for the Justice League, where heroes like Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman come together to work as a team. The building was first seen in the Super Friends cartoon in the 1970s.

Fans loved the look so much that it later became part of the official comics. The design usually includes huge columns and a big Justice League symbol on the front. It’s like a mix between a control center and a superhero clubhouse.

In the new movie, though, the Hall is still being built. It’s also being used by someone who’s not exactly a hero. Maxwell Lord, a powerful businessman, now owns the place. Sean Gunn, James Gunn’s brother, plays Maxwell Lord.

He’s expected to appear in other DC Universe stories later, but now we know he’s already showing up in Superman. The character was previously played by Pedro Pascal in Wonder Woman 1984, which was part of the older DC movie universe.

The new Superman stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent. Rachel Brosnahan plays Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult is Lex Luthor. Other actors in the movie include Nathan Fillion, Anthony Carrigan, Edi Gathegi, and Isabela Merced. This film will officially launch the new DC Universe that James Gunn is building along with producer Peter Safran.

Some scenes were shot at Union Terminal in Cincinnati. That’s interesting because the building actually inspired the Hall of Justice seen in the old Super Friends show. So, using it as a filming location brings things full circle. Fans spotted the production in action with parts of the area blocked off, including the Lytle Tunnel. A Metropolis flag was also seen outside the terminal during filming.

The movie is drawing from classic Superman comics, especially All-Star Superman by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely. According to the cast, the team working on the movie really cares about the character. Rachel Brosnahan said that many people involved in the film grew up as Superman fans and are putting a lot of heart into it.

With the Hall of Justice being reimagined, a new Superman in the spotlight, and a brand-new DC Universe starting to form, it looks like big changes are coming. Fans will get to see it all when the movie hits theaters.
