First Look at the Limited Edition Professor X and Red Guardian ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Funko Pops

With ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ set to hit theaters on December 18, the merchandise machine is running at full speed. Funko has been one of the biggest players in that push, unveiling a wave of collectibles that bring together heroes and villains from across the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The first wave of standard Pop! figures includes Doctor Doom, Thor, Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Mister Fantastic, Shang-Chi, Namor, Steve Rogers, Magneto, Cyclops, Gambit, Nightcrawler and Beast. The lineup also features a Concept Series Lord Doom and a Pop! Jumbo Sentinel, reflecting the film’s massive crossover of Avengers, X-Men and Fantastic Four characters.

Funko has also leaned heavily into its smaller Bitty Pop! line. Fans can pick up 2-packs, 4-packs, and mystery singles, along with playsets like Lord Doom in Doomstadt Tower, The Thing riding the Fantastic Four Jump Jet, and Red Guardian hanging around Avengers Tower.

Now 2 of those characters are getting the full-size treatment in a more exclusive form. As Avengers Updates shared, a first look has surfaced at limited-edition Professor X and Red Guardian Funko Pops for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.

The Professor X figure is numbered 1648 and shows the X-Men leader seated in a dark suit, with his signature bald look and a stern expression. The box art features a larger illustration of the character alongside the ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ logo.

Red Guardian, numbered 1649, captures David Harbour’s character with his familiar mustache and tinted aviator-style sunglasses. Both figures are labeled as bobbleheads and come in holographic packaging marked with a “Limited Edition” badge.

The packaging also indicates an edition size of 9,500 pieces for each figure. That limited run is likely to make them highly sought-after among collectors, though details about where and when they’ll be sold have not yet been confirmed.

Professor X will be played by Patrick Stewart, who is part of the film’s sprawling ensemble cast. Harbour returns as Alexei Shostakov, better known as Red Guardian, after his previous MCU appearances.

The inclusion of both characters highlights the film’s blend of franchises. Professor X represents the X-Men side of the crossover, while Red Guardian brings in the newer generation of MCU heroes.

Limited releases have already become a big part of Funko’s ‘Doomsday’ strategy. A Nightcrawler exclusive, numbered 1642, has been offered through select retailers, and Funko’s own store has sold a special bundle that includes a mystery variant Pop!

That bundle, priced at $89.94, comes with Magneto, Thor, Mister Fantastic, Cyclops, Doctor Doom, and Yelena. Funko has also offered a premium collectible with a 1-in-6 chance of revealing a rare silver metallic chase variant.

The broader ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Funko collection is available now at Funko.com and participating retailers including Target and Entertainment Earth. Fans hoping to snag the new limited edition Professor X and Red Guardian figures will want to keep an eye out for official release details.

With the film’s premiere less than 2 months away, collectors can expect even more reveals as Marvel and Funko continue building anticipation for one of the biggest releases of the year.
