Netflix has revealed the first promotional art for The Immortal Man, the long-awaited Peaky Blinders film that will continue the story of Tommy Shelby and his world. The movie will open in select cinemas on March 6, 2026, before arriving on Netflix on March 20.

Details about the plot are still being kept quiet, but the project is described as an expanded chapter in the Peaky Blinders universe, returning viewers to early-1900s Birmingham and the violent world that made the series a global hit.

Cillian Murphy steps back into the role of Tommy Shelby, marking his first on-screen return to the character since the series finale in 2022.

The film brings back several familiar faces, including Stephen Graham, Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee, and Ian Peck. New cast members such as Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, Jay Lycurgo, and Barry Keoghan are also joining the production. Tom Harper, who previously worked on the series, directs the feature, with show creator Steven Knight writing the script.

The idea for a film has been teased for years. Knight had hinted at continuing the story long before the sixth season ended. Murphy has also spoken about being open to returning, saying in a 2023 interview that he would reprise the role “if there’s more story there,” as long as it felt “legitimate and justified.” By late 2023, Knight confirmed he was close to finishing the screenplay.

The movie aims to serve as a new chapter for the franchise rather than a reboot. Fans who followed the Shelby family across six seasons will see the film as a direct continuation of where the show left off.
