Prime Video has given fans their first look at Hero Fiennes Tiffin as Sherlock Holmes in the upcoming series “Young Sherlock,” directed by Guy Ritchie. The images show Fiennes Tiffin portraying a 19-year-old Holmes as he takes on his very first murder mystery in the 1870s.

The series is inspired by Andy Lane’s “Young Sherlock” books and reimagines the iconic detective’s early years. According to Prime Video, the show will follow a youthful, unfiltered Holmes as he embarks on a globe-trotting adventure, uncovering mysteries that shape him into the legendary detective known today.

Guy Ritchie directs the series and serves as an executive producer alongside showrunner Matthew Parkhill, Dhana Gilbert, Marc Resteghini, Simon Maxwell, Ivan Atkinson, Simon Kelton, and Colin Wilson. Co-executive producers Harriet Creelman and Steve Thompson are also attached, while Motive Pictures led the physical production.

The cast includes Dónal Finn, Zine Tseng, Joseph Fiennes, Max Irons, and Colin Firth, all shown in character and period costume in the new images.

“We wanted to explore a side of Sherlock that has never been seen before — young, ambitious, and just starting to discover his genius,” a source from Prime Video told reporters.

“Young Sherlock” is set to premiere exclusively on Prime Video in 2026. This marks Ritchie’s first official return to the Sherlock Holmes universe since directing the 2009 film “Sherlock Holmes” and its 2011 sequel “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows,” which starred Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law.

Though rumors of a third film and other spin-offs have circulated for years, “Young Sherlock” officially brings Ritchie back to 221B Baker Street after more than a decade.

Fans can expect Ritchie’s signature cinematic style, combined with a fresh take on Holmes’ origin story, blending mystery, action, and period drama.
