[First Look] Mark Ruffalo Spotted Filming ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’
Filming has officially started for the next MCU Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and Mark Ruffalo was recently seen on set.
The film stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker and includes Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal, Michael Mando, Tramell Tillman, Marvin Jones III, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Ruffalo himself. The movie is part of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is set to release in the U.S. on July 31, 2026.

Principal photography began on August 3, in Glasgow, Scotland, under the working title Blue Oasis. Locations included Merchant City, George Square, and Trongate, which are being used to replicate New York City.
Filming also took place at Brookwood Cemetery in Surrey and Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England. The Jackie Chan Stunt Team returned to coordinate fight sequences, continuing their work from Shang-Chi.
Set photos from Glasgow showed armored vehicles marked with a red demon logo. Some fans and media outlets, like Bradley Russell of Total Film, speculated that this might be linked to the villain Mister Negative from the comics. Another reference bust spotted on set resembled the design for Rhino, another Spider-Man villain. Marvin Jones III was confirmed to be playing Lonnie Lincoln, also known as Tombstone.
Despite being seen on set, Ruffalo recently admitted in an interview with GQ that he hasn’t read the script yet.
Production faced a brief pause when Holland suffered a mild concussion during a stunt at Pinewood Studios. Filming resumed after his recovery, and the team confirmed the delay would not affect the release date.
It’s exciting to see Ruffalo back on set, even if fans don’t yet know how much screen time the Hulk will have. With all the returning actors and the hints of multiple villains, expectations are high for this next chapter in Spider-Man’s story.
