A brand new poster has just been released to celebrate the big-screen return of Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man. For the first time, the extended version of “Spider-Man 2,” known as “Spider-Man 2.1,” will be shown in theaters later this year. This special edition will screen in 4K, giving fans a chance to see the film in the highest quality yet.

Fathom Entertainment is behind this limited re-release, which will include not just “Spider-Man 2.1” but the entire original trilogy directed by Sam Raimi. While “Spider-Man 2.1” has been available on DVD since 2007, this will be its first time playing in theaters.

The extended cut adds eight extra minutes to the film, including the well-loved scene where J. Jonah Jameson, played by J.K. Simmons, hilariously tries on Spider-Man’s suit.

The original trilogy, starring Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker, Kirsten Dunst as MJ, James Franco as Harry Osborn, and Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus, remains a fan favorite even after more than 20 years and many other Spider-Man films.

Ray Nutt, CEO of Fathom Entertainment, said in a press statement, “The success of ‘Spider-Man’ in 2002 helped launch the modern era of super hero films. To this day, Tobey Maguire’s take on Spider-Man resonates across generations. At Fathom Entertainment, we celebrate fandom and I am delighted that ‘Spider-Man 2.1’ in 4K will make its theatrical debut, a true gift for longtime fans and a thrilling discovery for new ones.”

According to Fathom, the trilogy will return to theaters this fall. The original “Spider-Man” will play on September 26 and October 3. “Spider-Man 2.1” will be shown on September 27 and October 4. “Spider-Man 3” will follow on September 28 and October 5. Tickets go on sale July 25 on Fathom’s official site and at participating theaters.

Besides Spider-Man, Fathom Entertainment is bringing back other classic films to theaters, like “Clueless” at the end of June, “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” in July, and “The Sound of Music” in September.

So if you’re a Spider-Man fan, get ready to see Tobey Maguire back in action this fall—and keep an eye out for the new poster promoting this special event.
