Tom Holland and Zendaya are back in the spotlight with brand-new posters for the upcoming film Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and fans are already getting excited for what’s next.

The movie is set to hit theaters on July 31, and it continues the story after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. According to information from Marvel Studios and production details shared by the filmmakers, this new chapter takes Peter Parker into a very different place in his life.

After Doctor Strange cast the spell that made the world forget who Peter Parker is, Peter is now completely on his own. He quietly protects New York City as Spider-Man, without friends or recognition. The story jumps four years ahead and shows him dealing with a new and dangerous threat, while also facing strange changes in his powers.

Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker, and he described the story as something deeper than a typical superhero film. He said it explores Peter’s identity and personal struggles as he grows up. “This was a unique and ‘profound’ superhero story to tell,” Holland shared, explaining that Peter’s choices will affect both his personal life and his health.

Zendaya is back as MJ, but things are not simple between her and Peter. She is now studying at MIT and has moved on with her life, even having a new relationship. This creates emotional tension when Peter sees her again, since she no longer remembers him.

The cast also includes Jacob Batalon as Ned, Sadie Sink in a new role, and Jon Bernthal as the Punisher. Bernthal’s character brings a darker tone to the story. Holland talked about their on-screen dynamic, saying their characters start off in conflict but grow into something more like a strange partnership. “A big brother/little brother rivalry,” is how he described it.

Mark Ruffalo also appears as Bruce Banner, who now works as a professor and helps Peter understand the changes happening in his body. Meanwhile, Michael Mando returns as the villain Scorpion, adding more danger to the story.

The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, who previously worked on earlier Spider-Man films. Production details confirm that filming took place in Glasgow and at Pinewood Studios in England, and it wrapped at the end of 2025.

The project is produced by Marvel Studios, Columbia Pictures, and Pascal Pictures, with distribution handled by Sony Pictures Releasing. It will be part of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

This new film is meant to start a fresh trilogy focused on Peter Parker’s life after losing everything. According to producer Amy Pascal, the idea for this next chapter has been in development since 2021.

With a more isolated Peter, new enemies, and evolving powers, Spider-Man: Brand New Day looks like it will take the character in a very different direction than before.
