First Teaser for Edgar Wright’s ‘The Running Man’ Released — Full Trailer Drops Tomorrow

A new teaser for The Running Man just dropped, and fans of action and sci-fi are in for something intense. Directed by Edgar Wright, the film stars Glen Powell and is based on the 1982 novel by Stephen King, written under the name Richard Bachman.
It’s not a remake of the 1987 Arnold Schwarzenegger version, but a brand-new take that sticks closer to the original book.
The teaser gives a quick look at the tone and energy Wright is going for, and the full trailer is set to release tomorrow. From what’s been shared by the crew so far, this version of The Running Man feels darker and more grounded, but still packed with action. It’s all centered around a brutal game show where people have to run for their lives while being hunted, with the promise of a cash prize if they survive.
Glen Powell plays the main character, Ben Richards, a man forced to compete in the deadly show. Alongside him are actors like Katy O’Brian, Daniel Ezra, Michael Cera, Emilia Jones, and William H. Macy. Josh Brolin plays the ruthless producer behind the show, and Colman Domingo appears as the flashy host.
Production started in the UK back in November 2024, with big action scenes even being shot at Wembley Stadium. Filming wrapped in March 2025. The film is being made by Paramount Pictures and will hit theaters on November 7, 2025, the same day as Predator: Badlands.

Edgar Wright is directing and also co-wrote the script with Michael Bacall. According to Paramount, this isn’t just another adaptation, it’s “a much more faithful version of King’s original story.”
Wright has wanted to do this film for a long time. Back in 2017, he even tweeted about how much he wanted to remake The Running Man. Now, years later, it’s finally happening. Financing came from Domain Entertainment, while Simon Kinberg, Audrey Chon, and Nira Park are helping to produce.
While the teaser is short, it’s already showing off the kind of wild energy and visual style Wright is known for. And with a full trailer just around the corner, excitement is definitely building. All of this info comes from updates shared by Paramount and production sources involved with the film.
The Running Man opens in theaters November 7, 2025. Stay tuned for the trailer tomorrow, and get ready to run.
