Hulu has shared the first teaser for its upcoming Malcolm in the Middle revival, giving fans an early hint of what the new series will feel like.

The short clip brings back a well-known moment from the original show, showing Hal in a scene that mirrors one of the earliest gags from the classic sitcom. It’s a small moment, but it sets the tone for a return that leans into the show’s roots.

The new project is titled “Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair.” It will run for four episodes and is planned for a 2026 debut on Hulu and on Hulu on Disney+ in the United States, with Disney+ carrying it internationally.

This revival follows Malcolm as he gets pulled back into his family’s chaos when Hal and Lois insist he attend their 40th-anniversary celebration. Malcolm now has a daughter and tries to protect her from the kind of family drama he grew up with, but, as fans know, nothing is ever simple in the world of the Wilkersons.

The original cast is returning, including Bryan Cranston, Frankie Muniz, Jane Kaczmarek, Chris Kennedy Masterson, Justin Berfield and Emy Coligado. They will be joined by new actors playing Malcolm’s daughter, his younger sibling, and new people in his life. These additions suggest the revival will mix nostalgia with new storylines.

The series is produced by Disney Branded Television and 20th Television, with New Regency also involved. Linwood Boomer, who created the original show, is back as writer and executive producer.

Bryan Cranston also serves as an executive producer, along with Tracy Katsky, Gail Berman, and New Regency’s Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan and Natalie Lehmann. Ken Kwapis will direct the full series. Jimmy Simons and Laura Delahaye join as co-executive producers.
