Speaking about returning to the series, Gillett and Bettinelli-Olpin said, “We never dreamed Ready or Not would connect with people the way it has over the past few years and feel so honored to get to step back into Grace’s world.”
The directors also noted how emotional it was to work with Samara Weaving again. “The original movie really changed our lives in countless ways, and to see Samara back in that character and back in that dress felt really special to us.”
Weaving shared her own experience revisiting her character, Grace MacCaullay. “I was a bit nervous and not sure if I would remember what I was doing in the first one, but once I put that dress back on, I got super excited. The entire character came flooding back. We were all quite emotional in that fitting, actually. Revisiting the character is one thing, but working with that crew again was the best part.”
The directors praised the ensemble cast, saying, “We can’t say enough about how much we love the ensemble in this movie. We think everyone brought something genuinely special to their roles, and we’re so thrilled with how scary, funny, and bizarre this cast of characters are.”
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come brings back Weaving as Grace and features Kathryn Newton, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng, David Cronenberg, and Elijah Wood. The screenplay is written by Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy, with Gillett and Bettinelli-Olpin directing once again.
The film is set to hit theaters in the United States on April 10, 2026, courtesy of Searchlight Pictures. The full trailer is scheduled for release tomorrow.
