The King of the Hill revival is finally getting closer, and Hulu has dropped the first trailer for the new season.

The show is coming back on August 4, and fans are already picking apart every little detail from the trailer.

The trailer reveals a lot, too. Hank, Peggy, and Bobby are back in Arlen, Texas after living abroad for years. Hulu confirmed that the Hills had been living in Saudi Arabia, but are now retired and adjusting to a very different version of their old hometown.

“Hank and Peggy Hill are now retired and return to a changed Arlen after years of working in Saudi Arabia; and Bobby is 21 and living his best life while navigating adulthood as a chef in Dallas and enjoying his 20s with his former classmates Connie, Joseph, and Chane,” Hulu said in a press release.

We also find out that Bobby is now a chef at a trendy place that mixes German, sushi, and robata-style food, and, much to Hank’s disappointment, the restaurant doesn’t use propane.

“He’s become more centered and almost a little bit more like his dad,” said Pamela Adlon, who still voices Bobby.

Show creator Mike Judge talked about what Hank’s been going through since moving back. At the ATX Television Festival in May 2025, he explained how much has changed since Hank was last in Arlen, and how little patience Hank has for any of it.

“Hank kinda liked that women were covered up and modest [in Saudi Arabia],” said Judge, according to IndieWire. “He comes back and there’s a bike lane and a scooter lane. […] He’s looking at all the stuff that’s happened in the last 15 years, and there’s a whole world of things that would annoy Hank.”

Judge also said that aging the characters is what really made the revival click for him.

“Because it’s such a grounded realistic show, it just felt right that they would be older,” he said.

We still don’t know why exactly the Hills are back in Arlen, or whether Dale actually became mayor like the intro hints. But one thing is clear, King of the Hill is back with the same strange, dry humor that made fans love it in the first place.
