We are more than ready for the return of the Wizarding World on the big screen!

Warner Bros. Pictures released the first official trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, the third installment of the Fantastic Beasts film series. J.K. Rowling, author of the Wizarding World franchise co-wrote the screenplay with Steve Kloves, a veteran screenwriter who wrote seven out of eight Harry Potter movies. David Yates is back in the director’s chair, and Eddie Redmayne is back for his third appearance as Newt Scamander, a magizoologist and the main character of this Harry Potter prequel/spin-off film series.

Check out the official trailer:

J.K. Rowling announced that she penned five Fantastic Beasts movies, so according to that, we can expect two more movies after this threequel, if The Secrets of Dumbledore manage to be a box-office success. The previous installment, The Crimes of Grindelwald, grossed $654 million worldwide, which makes it the lowest-grossing movie of the Wizarding World franchise. Now, we’ll see if The Secrets of Dumbledore can make a better result. We hope so.

What Did Albus Dumbledore Teach in Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts?

After the events of The Crimes of Grindelwald, the magical community is so close to open war. Grindelwald’s power and influence are growing, and Albus Dumbledore enlists Newt Scamander and his friends for a mission that will lead to a showdown against Grindelwald. Meanwhile, World War 2 is starting in the world of muggles, and Dumbledore isn’t sure if the magical community should interfere. The movie will show us other magical communities in Brazil, China, and Germany, as well as previously known communities in the United Kingdom and the United States.

The Wizarding World franchise kicked off with the first Harry Potter movie in 2001. After Daniel Radcliffe’s Harry Potter finished his journey in 2011, something was needed to keep the fans interested in Rowling’s world of witches and wizards. In 2016, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, directed by David Yates (who directed four Harry Potter movies) and written by Rowling, was released and that made the beginning of the new chapter of Wizarding World.

The movie is starring Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Callum Turner, William Nadylam, Poppy Corby-Tuech, Jessica Williams, and Jude Law as Albus Dumbledore. Mads Mikkelsen joins the franchise as Gellert Grindelwald, a Dark Wizard who was played by Johnny Depp in the previous two installments.

Written by J. K. Rowling and Steve Kloves, directed by David Yates, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is set to be released on April 8, 2022 in the United Kingdom and April 15, 2022 in the United States.
