Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, the sequel to the 2023 hit horror movie, is coming to digital streaming this week. Fans will be able to watch the film at home starting Tuesday via premium video on demand, according to a new listing on Prime Video.

The movie stars Josh Hutcherson and Matthew Lillard and continues the story from the first film, which adapted the popular video game series.

Directed by Emma Tammi and written by Scott Cawthon, the creator of the original games, the sequel expands on the mysteries and horrors of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.

The film picks up one year after the events of the first movie. “One year has passed since the supernatural nightmare at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. The stories about what transpired there have been twisted into a campy local legend, inspiring the town’s first-ever Fazfest. Former security guard Mike and police officer Vanessa have kept the truth from Mike’s 11-year-old sister, Abby, concerning the fate of her animatronic friends.”

“But when Abby sneaks out to reconnect with Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, it will set into motion a terrifying series of events, revealing dark secrets about the true origin of Freddy’s, and unleashing a long-forgotten horror hidden away for decades,” the official film summary reads.

In addition to Hutcherson and Lillard, the cast includes Elizabeth Lail as Vanessa, Piper Rubio as Abby, and Theodus Crane returning as Jeremiah. New cast members for the sequel include Freddy Carter, Wayne Knight, Mckenna Grace, and Skeet Ulrich. Lillard reprises his role as the villainous William Afton.

Rated PG-13, the film mixes suspense and horror while staying true to the tone of the video games. The first movie opened in theaters on November 5, 2023, and quickly became a fan favorite.
