Florence Pugh Just Turned Lingerie Dressing Into Boardroom Chic at the ‘East of Eden’ After-Party
Florence Pugh has never been one to play it safe on a press tour, and her ‘East of Eden’ promotional run has been no exception. The actress, who stars as Cathy Ames and also serves as an executive producer on Netflix’s adaptation of John Steinbeck’s novel, has turned nearly every appearance into a fashion moment. With the 7-episode limited series premiering October 1, Florence Pugh’s ‘East of Eden’ style has become a story all its own.
Working alongside stylist Rebecca Corbin-Murray throughout the tour, Pugh has worn pieces from Dior, Chloé, and Vivienne Westwood in addition to Rodarte. That range has kept fans guessing about what she’ll pull out next, and her latest look proved worth the wait.
At the Vanity Fair after-party for ‘East of Eden’, Pugh opted for a black top paired with a gray pleated skirt, according to photos by Hunter Abrams shared on X. The sequins defined her waist, while a black bow appeared on the side of the skirt, adding a playful touch to the otherwise polished look. The photos show her with her blonde hair worn loose and a warm, glowing makeup look.
The ensemble appears to match the one W Magazine spotted at an ‘East of Eden’ event at San Vicente in the West Village on September 29. The outlet identified it as a set from Erdem Moralioglu’s fall/winter 2026 collection, featuring a black satin bra and a matching skirt. The bottoms boasted a high-waisted panel in the same embroidered satin as the top, before continuing in a pleated wool that wrapped around her waist.

The genius of the outfit lies in its contrast. As W Magazine put it, the lingerie-adjacent top and the business-appropriate skirt made it an interesting combination, with Pugh giving blonde bombshell from the waist up and boardroom-ready on the bottom. In reality, she was dressed for an evening of drinks and mingling at the private members’ club.
The choice of label also carried meaning. Pugh looked to her British roots by selecting London-based brand Erdem for the night. Fans were quick to praise the look online, with one X user calling Pugh in black and gray a fashion masterpiece.

This after-party ensemble is just the latest in a string of memorable looks. Earlier in the tour, Pugh attended a photo call and Q&A at the British Library in a coordinated pleated look from Rodarte’s fall 2019 collection. The Iridescent Pleated Blouse featured a voluminous, ruffled high neck that cascaded down in sheer, shimmering pleats, paired with wide-legged black pleated trousers.
She went even bigger for the London screening on September 25. There, Pugh wore a black taffeta ballgown by Rodarte along with a Bvlgari necklace featuring around 60 carats of diamonds and rubellite. The gown’s skirt burst into a flowing bundle of crumpled black fabric with a slight train that trailed behind her on the red carpet.
There’s something fitting about the darker, moodier palette that has defined much of the tour. Pugh’s Cathy Ames is a morally complicated figure whose life is intertwined with generations of the Trask family, as the characters live out the darker side of the California dream. Her wardrobe has mirrored that tension beautifully, balancing elegance with an undercurrent of edge.

With ‘East of Eden’ now arriving on Netflix, Pugh’s press tour may be winding down, but her style legacy from this campaign is already secured. The Erdem moment in particular showed she can be just as captivating off the red carpet as on it.
